The stadium is filled, and the cheering from the crowd makes it hard for me to hear myself think. The smell of popcorn and other goods are being vended at the concession stand. The band has left the field with their piece still drumming in my head. We are in the first quarter with the lead; the scoreboard shows a score of twenty-eight to seven. The coaches are yelling, “offense” so; I put my helmet on with the upmost eagerness and headed to my position on the field. I played running back for SCSU, and I was going to get the ball on this play. The handoff, straight up the field I ran for a twenty yard gain. The following play my teammate caught a pass for a twenty-one yard gain. I could not believe it; we were tearing their defense apart and our defense was controlling their offense and they could not score. …show more content…
At the start of the second quarter we were getting tired, and making mistakes that costed us prime field position. One of the linebackers was not in the right coverage, which leads to seven points for our opponents, following the extra point. One of our players fumbled on offense, which turned the ball back over to our opponents that brought about in another touchdown for the opposing team, now it is twenty-eight to twenty-one.
