Personal Narrative Essay On Homework In High School

Looking around the classroom I see everyone pulling out their homework from last night. I reach into my backpack, grab my assignment, and set it on my desk. Checking it over everything looks complete and then I turn the paper over. My heart drops. The entire back page is incomplete. Scrambling to see if I was missing something, I turned to my right and looked at my classmate in shock. Luckily for me, he let me take his answers off his paper. As I was writing down the last two answers onto my paper, I see a hand reach over my shoulder. It was my teacher. Walking from my locker, I hear multiple voices talking about the psychology homework from last night. My friends had told me that the homework could be used on the quiz. Graciously, I smiled …show more content…
I had never been caught cheating on anything before. At that moment I felt like I couldn’t speak. Words tried to come out of my mouth but I had nothing. My teacher then proceeded to his desk where he took both of our papers and set them on his desk. The bell rang and everyone got quiet. He stands up behind his desk and says “I’m sure you already heard this, but you have a quiz today over your homework and yes, you get to use your homework on the quiz.” Trying to hide my embarrassment, I looked off to the left instead of right at my teacher. He then picked up both of the papers and said “We have two people in this class that decided to cheat on their homework. They will not be allowed to use this for the test and for the rest of you goodluck.” Everyone started looking around trying to figure out who didn’t have their homework but luckily for me, no one had seen that I didn’t have …show more content…
I had no clue what was about to happen so I just waited. He looks at me with a confused look and says to me “What is this? I know that this isn’t like you, what happened?” I responded in despair “I didn’t finish my homework and I was trying to get the rest of the answers.” Seconds seemed like minutes just standing at the teachers desk waiting for a response. I could tell he was thinking about something but I wasn’t sure what it was. He then looks up at me and says “Coleton, I know cheating happens all the time every day here. You just were the one that got caught plain and simple.” I nodded my head and didn’t know what else to do I was hopeless. But then my teacher said something that caught my eye. He said “You know cheating never prospers, taking someone else’s answers and using them for yourself.” I thought to myself for a second and realized what was being said to me. Everyone knows what type of student that I am. I have never been known for cheating it was just this one

Another reason why my decision wasn’t the smartest is that I didn’t gain anything from cheating. I thought that if I cheated on this test I would get an A+, but this wasn’t the case. Since I got caught cheating, I ended up with a zero on the test. I don’t know why it occurred to me that I would be able to get away with holding the study guide under my desk, but in the end I did the crime, so I had to face the consequences. Now that I am in high school, I know that…

The definition of cheating has remained uncleared. But as it is considered as wrong, no matter what, the teachers were wrong because cheating was something that they started with a good intention, but not in a right way. Teachers are often tempted to cheat as they think that it is an easier way to get bright results. There is not a single situation where I could describe it to be totally fair or acceptable. According to me the teachers at park middle school were at fault.…

I am grateful that during the course of my college career I have not been put in a situation where I directly observed another student cheating. I will be quite honest, especially since this is an ethics class lol, when I first read the discussion assignment, my first thought was that if I was seated next to someone in a classroom setting and observed someone cheating I would do nothing because it really isn’t any of my business. Then I dug a little deeper and got to thinking if the other persons cheating affects me directly, I would do something about it. The more I thought about it, the more passionate I became. That person cheating has attack my morals!…

Why Feel Guilty for Cheating? Part 1: If I were in the situation that my friends and I cheated, and one friend takes the blame for everything, I would feel very guilty. I would feel guilty, for everyone cheated, and yet one friend is the only one getting in trouble. I would feel guilty when getting the exam from my friends, when I take the exam, and when the friend gets the blame, because though I can get a better grade on the exam if I used the actual test to study, it would also mean that I cheated knowingly, and is not the correct way to prepare for an exam. Also, I would feel guilty just for getting a good grade by cheating.…

The dismissal bell just went off. As I was leaving the classroom, my teacher, Mr. Rase, the one I hate the most called me over and said “Jake Hazel, are you ready for the test” I quickly responded with a head nod and said, “Yeah I think I’ll be ready.” Mr. Rase then gobbled on by saying, “Fail is going to be what’s written all over your test!” So I quickly turned around and left the classroom, the only thing that I had going through my head was Mr. Rase stroking his long 2 foot beard and stamping the word “FAIL” in all capital letters on my test.…

However, one afternoon in English class, Mr. Drazic my English teacher with an average height, wearing a blue shirt and black pants called me out of the class saying “Mandeep, can you step out of the class I would like to have a discussion with you.” This was the first time I was talking to my teacher alone especially when I just knew him for two weeks. I was extremely excited to know why Mr. Drazic called me out thinking that a special event was going to take place in school. As I walked towards the brown squeaky door that was just footsteps away made me feel like I took the long route. As I reached the hallway, I noticed Mr. Drazic’s face that was serious and upset with no smile on his face, making me nervous about what he was going to say.…
