Personal Narrative Essay On DC Universe Online

I've played a lot of MMOs. Tons of them. From World of Warcraft, which i thought was underwhelming, to Warframe, a must if you love run and guns. However, for the longest time I couldn't find a game where i could scratch all of my many game genre itches. Usually it's an either-or.

"You want an action game? Great! It's $15 a month. You want a fantasy style MMO? another $15. Oh! and a another? that will be $45 altogether."

I, personally, have a wandering interest. I might enjoy an FPS for a couple days only to go to another game later. Well, I've done it. I found not only one game worth subscribing to, but three, all for one price.

DC Universe Online is the crown jewel of this subscription. First of all, yes, the game is free to play. that

They use high graphics in certain areas, but not in others. It's extremely frustrating when you have a good computer, yet some areas almost look sloppy. Most areas are incredibly detailed, however, and that gives DC Universe Online an 7.5/10 in graphics.

GAME PLAY

The combat mechanics in DC Universe Online are amazing. unlike most MMOs like World of Warcraft you have a say in when your weapon hits and when it doesn't. Left clicking is a powerful melee attack, while right clicking sends out a ranged attack. Not all attacks need the mouse, however, you have super powered attacks based on what your superpowers are. For instance, if you press the 2 key you will send out a fireball at your enemies as a fire based hero.

DC Universe Online also boasts movement types. instead of waking everywhere you can use super speed to run faster then most enemies, acrobatics to zip line across buildings, or even fly in the sky. it essential, however that you choose a movement type that matches the powers and weapons you have equipped. using flight as a melee character can be a little redundant, as you have no reason to fly, you can just fly up to the enemy.

Game Play in DC Universe Online gets a 9/10 in
