Superior Essays
People tell you that you will never forget a school trip - and my trip to Austria has certainly given my life a new perspective and has helped to shape my future. I learned various things about myself that I never knew - some good, some bad, which I will retain into adulthood.
As we arrived at the school in the morning of Friday the 31st of March, I waited eagerly for the bus to arrive and take us to those snow-capped mountains. As soon as I had left the car I began to go through my checklist mentally, panicking. Eventually the bus arrived and everyone started to grab their luggage and dash to the carrier underneath the bus. After Zoe and I pushed eagerly through the crowd of pupils and parents, we made our way up the stairs on the bus to choose

I went for a hot shower to relax and got dressed. I couldn’t wait for breakfast at 7am, as everyone had been talking about a breakfast buffet I was ecstatic. As I dashed down the cold, hard marble stairs, I wondered what would be available to eat thinking of how hungry I actually was even though I had eaten dinner the night before. I sat down at the table awaiting for everyone else to appear at the table. As soon as I saw them I made my way to the area with the rolls, meat and cheeses. I made three rolls with various fillings and strolled back to my table. I consumed the rolls within minutes taking a sip of water after every few bites this was partially due to the fact that I was stress eating. After everyone had eaten Mr Latta made an announcement to meet at the main entrance at 8am ready to leave for skiing. This was the moment that it all had hit me, the beautiful scenery, and the adrenaline rush while you ski, …show more content…
My fall was spectacular as I rolled down the mountain and lost both skis. I was utterly embarrassed as I was leading the group at the time. Stuart (who was the “tail-end”) had to help me back up as I couldn’t reach my skis. I was mortified. My favourite day of the week was by far the shopping day. This was purely because every year that I leave the country I buy myself a snow globe and a post card. This year I bought myself a large snow globe that had the mountain range we had been skiing on that week. It was stunning and

After putting on our bright pink leotards and ballet shoes, which trust me we're not the most fashionable, we went out to the car to wait on Dianna’s mom. I should mention it was still raining as if the earth would flood outside, this made it slightly hard to hear but we ran out to the car anyway. Me, Dianna, and Dalton bolted through the door, sprinting to the car that Dianna had unlocked with the small remote. The cold rain made the humid, hot day not feel as bad as the rest of that summer had been, which was dry and hot. When we got into the car we sat for a bit but then Dianna decided she wanted to turn on the music so she jumps to the front seat of the car.…

After 4 years of patiently waiting and anticipating, the day finally arrived. Every year, the graduating class of School of the Ozarks gets the opportunity to travel to Greece and Italy for a nine-day excursion. As an underclassman, I always envied the seniors when Spring break came around, because of the amazing opportunity they had. Now, after a total of thirty-three hours of traveling, my body flopped on the cheap hotel bed in Athens, Greece. I buried my face in the pillow, waiting patiently my best friend to come in through the door.…

For many parents, the birth of a new child brings joy and glee. However for my father, I was a burden made by his late-night illegal activities. West Englewood is an area many people have not heard of - it’s tucked inside the southwest side of Chicago. During the day, the people of Englewood would wake up to the smell and sound of gunshots and burning tyres. Police officers would parade the streets in their well-ironed uniforms and the alleys would be covered with bright and colourful graffiti of sayings and images, which I didn’t understand at the time.…

I walk into the red brick building of Sacajawea Middle School. I heave the door open and set foot into the eventful day coming. The commons are buzzing as usual like bees frantically trying to collect their honey. The lockers slamming shut, the laughing, footsteps, and hushed whispers morph into a gentle murmur encasing me. I walk up to my friends Jayden and Rachel, who are laughing at one of the many puns that flutter through the halls.…
