I first went to American Eagle; my favorite clothing store. I, very nervously, walked in the mall and looked for the store. I walked in and asked a worker if they are considering hiring people right now. She said the store always accepts applications and she gave me the website link to fill out my application. Even though this may not seem like an independent and immense deal, I felt so accomplished afterward. I am not very outgoing towards new people, which is why it was so nerve racking for me to do this. After I went in the first store, I went to three other stores and applied there. They said they liked me and that I would be an excellent fit for what I wanted. I accepted the job and I could not believe that I finally landed a job all by myself. I finally realized I am more capable of doing things independently than I imagined. I was so proud that I did this whole job process by myself without the help of my parents guiding the way, telling me where to go, and going with me. The next step would be getting my working papers signed from guidance, a parent, and the manager. I felt like a professional at confronting workers and talking to the manager. After I got my papers signed, I started my job training the next day. I had four sessions of training before I started working on the floor on my own. The training was not very difficult. I just asked several of questions and made sure to pay attention to everything they said. I had my last session of training last night. I learned how to check people out on mobiles so I interacted and helped people the whole time. More independence came with this training because I helped people and solved problems on my own, without the manager by my side the whole
