My passion for film evolved from all that i love in life, influencing me to dedicate my future to my dream, to design and create, enabling me to utilize my creative nature .
I had never been interested in sports, and rarely ever attended extracurricular activities. I had no motivational drive to do anything with my life. in 8th grade i had to move 45 minutes from the house i had known my whole life, to a new one, with just my mom. i had to transfer schools that year which was really difficult for me. In an effort to find an escape, i became consumed in the realm of film and photography. i didn't have a camera, but i knew everything about them. my days turned from living as a non-moving couch potato, to having my eyes constantly glued to a

Then my dad moved houses, where i got to pick my room first now that my sisters had graduated. i ended up picking the game room because of the massive size and the view from the windows that lined the wall facing the sunset. i would sit by the window during sunset, looking out into the world and all the possibilities, which would endlessly inspire me. I began painting countless canvases of beauty portraying my thoughts and ideas on movements, visuals, and replicated eye pleasing images that constantly raced through my mind. My room had become my personal portfolio and soon my dad's whole house morphed into my very own studio. i transformed the room under my stairs into a darkroom so i could develop my own film. i created sets in every empty room to produce and film short stories and music videos with the help of my friends and family, i go to thrift stores and yard sales almost everyday finding pieces i could buy for $15 to transform them into pieces i have sold for up to $300, not only were my creative juices flowing rapidly but my mind was expanding to parts that improved my inspiration …show more content…
Just by thinking about the opportunities i was capable of single-handedly changed through inspiration, i started reading books in all my free time, i got into middle age literature and art, the way they could tell full stories just through one piece of artwork gave me chills because of the emotion shown and the determinacy they had to create something so beautiful and important to them with such little supplies and very few knowledge on painting and drawing. One of my most important models of inspiration and creativity is formed from music, music has ways of instantly changing my mood and look on everyday situations and emotions, i think personally that the best way i can create is to film and produce music videos, some songs tell such a good story that when i hear them i envision my own music video in my head and continue to wow myself with the ideas i can create just by listening to music and the emotion verbally shown through the background melody. I think the Pratt institute would be an amazing opportunity for me, by combining multiple forms of art into one piece can show infinite meanings and i feel that Pratt offers multiple opportunities for me to show and express my art forms located in a state that has inspired me each and every time i visit, i would

I have dabbled with art ever since I was a toddler. I would draw anywhere I went: school, home, and even at church. It started out as a hobby, but soon, I immersed myself into the world of art by integrating art with medicine. I have always found medical dramas to be particularly intriguing. Developing into this interest, I started writing my own medical journal, where I took notes from a book called Gray’s Anatomy and from the medical dramas I watched.…

An abundance of people appreciate the arts, whether it be the performing, visual or theatrical areas, on the other hand, I love them. My passion being the visual arts. Instead of writing and spelling at five years old, I was drawing, painting mixing colors and forming shapes not realizing the capableness of my techniques for such a young aged child. Because drawing was the only thing I fancied, every one figured it was “a phase I was going through and would grow out of it”. It never happened.…

High school is a lot like an epic novel. We are each the hero of our story, and during that story we face challenges that make us consider who we want to be. I have worked very hard to write a 4 year journey into a two page essay. Through the journey of high school my interests, activities, work, personal circumstances, reasons for attending college, and future aspirations have been the core elements to my personal novel. I hope that through the Hagan scholarship I will be able to add the chapters about college without the never ending battle against student loans.…

Over the first semester I feel I have been appropriately challenged in the area of writing we have done this year. I learned many new skills, but the most important one involves English and how to write properly. As for the first writing, I really did not understand what was right and what was wrong. Because I never paid close attention to specific rules in how to write. I truly believe it has been hard for me.…

I want to entertain; knowing that I can make people happy with what I can create, with what I say and what I do makes all the difference to me. As a child, I loved theatrical performances with all my heart, funny improv games and shows with my little sister helped test our creative outlets. I also played with musical skills picked up thanks to my father; the way songs can audibly represent emotions, settings, even complete stories fascinated me. So, I set out on a mission to create and to make and experience everything I could to be involved with art in general. I performed in our middle school select choir and the three play productions in my time there as well, because I could see that it made people happy to be included or involved, either watching or performing.…

When I was a child, most of my time was spent on the computer. I wasn’t very interested with the physical computer, rather I was interested in everything the computer could do. It was more fun for me to tinker with the settings than to play games. As I got older in elementary school, I discovered website and game building sites. I built sites on my computer for everything from a fake business that sold toys to a page to host all the pictures from my semi-annual Barbie fashion shows.…

For as long as I can remember, movies and television have been my escape. No matter what was going on in my life, I could always get lost in the fantastical adventures of Star Wars or even the mundane happenings in The Office. With each new story that I consumed, my mind created five more. For me, writing just started out as a way for me to clear all of these thought-tangents out of my head. I would keep random journals everywhere and just jot down whatever came to me throughout the day.…

Everyone has a special talent or ability, my talent is drawing. I wasn’t born an artist or particularly skilled at all, but I knew from a young age that talents are what set us apart from others and make us unique. In elementary and through middle school, I was encouraged by my teachers and parents to find my talent or interest. However, nothing genuinely interested me and I didn’t consider myself talented. Though I hadn’t found my talent ,by the start of middle school, if not earlier, the people close to me had found their talents or interests and they began to pursue it.…

As a child, my summers consisted of “cooking food for the soul” and creating skits with my younger brother at Gran-Gran’s, my great-grandmother’s home. Her home is where I learned to cook the best macaroni and cheese, dressing, and banana pudding in the world! I also perfected my own banana nut pancakes. On any given day, while the food was in the oven, my brother and I would sit in her basement, writing a new script or song, and rehearsing it nonstop. When we moved from Michigan to Nevada in 2008, my creative side went into full gear.…
