My boss was so mad; he yelled at me in front of all the customers and drags me back to the kitchen. I got so upset, depressed and cried in the restroom for what I done wrong. Of course, I got fired on the next day. All my friends were tried to comfort me and encouraged me to try again at the other restaurant. I found myself a server job at the Chinese buffet restaurant; even I didn’t make much money compared to my friends. At least I learned what server duty was. For example; I need to up selling specialty items to the customers, answer questions, describe dishes, ensure guest satisfaction etc. I realized that some tables need more help than others, and some will just want you to take their order and leave them alone. This is where I would have to use my personal skills and experience to determine what level of hospitality my guest is expecting. During all the pass years, I learned a lot and make a new group of friends. The lessons I learned in the hospitality industry have been more valuable than I could have ever imagined. (1) Don’t expect to have a weekend or holiday off unless you are really sick. (2) Most of the restaurant employees receive no paid sick days, vacation, or health insurance. (3) Many young people don 't understand what a tip is for, mainly because they never to work at the restaurant before or they thought the tip is include in the bill.(4) Some restaurant owner would make their servers to pay for meals when they make mistakes.(5) There have been numerous occasions where families will come in with their children and let them to sat at another table. They would expect me to keep my eyes on them, but I am not their babysitter. (6) Occasions some parents would let their children handle all their food and then leave all of it all over the floor for me and the busboys to clean it. I think we should charge them an extra service fee. (7) I hated it when people come in 10-15 minutes before we close, everyone work in the front of the house would be force to stay in the restaurant until THEY leave. (8) Every once a while, people would leave me a religious literature instead of money. I am not mad or upset, but I hope they know their literature would not pay my bill. If they are truly a religious person, that 's awesome. Good for you, I respect their decisions to believe in anything they want. But please, please do not leave me those little booklets about how we are going straight to hell unless we find
