Life tends to be easier when you are an adult. At a young age I desired to be an adult they had money, a job, a car, and a house. I was a snot nosed kid who knew nothing about the world, however compared to my parents they knew how cruel the world was and they faced reality ready or not. My parents grew up in a different lifestyle they were forced to mature at an early age and become adults.
There was only two options work to help your family survive or go to school and get some education. My mother chose education while my father chose work. Both choices made them mature and become an adult. My dad was poor his family could not afford education resulting in my father and his brothers to work at the age of ten.
My mother was poor too but her family could afford a decent education. Unlike my father who had to jump in a neighboring river in order bathe. My mother had a better opportunity to be educated, but even though she chose education she still had to mature at a young age. She had to work and pay for school making barely enough to pay the

The chancla was a monstrous being. Every little bad thing I did was was a grand opportunity to meet the chancla. The chancla and I were well acquainted, but every encounter sent a stinging sensation on my behind. My parents demonstrated what discipline was and I can assure you I learned very well. “You guys have it lucky” my dad would say” Do you know I was hit for every little thing. I was terrified of my own father.” I was scared of being disciplined, but luckily I was not always the example sometimes it was my little sister or my little brother. Watching others get disciplined was not such a bad thing I actually enjoyed it.
