Regardless if my family is celebrating a holiday, or just meeting up for a quick ten minutes, nothing can surpass the lively enjoyment we have together. As my siblings and I grow older, it is challenging for all of us to gather at the same time, but we can usually rely on our mom to round us up. She is the glue that keeps our little clan together. Never will I let slip from my mind a particularly special day in August 2012, when my mom sent out a group message to my siblings and me. She asked our availability for a last-minute day trip to Sedona; remarkably, none of us had any prior commitments and we managed to convene within the hour. Quickly, we packed three well-worn coolers full of turkey sandwiches, fruit, chips, plenty of water, and …show more content…

Of course, my family agreed and again, we packed up our supplies and started hiking. After twenty minutes of exploring, we were stunned by the amount of people we saw, all with sizable smiles stretched across their faces. While picking another spot to settle in, my family and I listened to some loud cheering and then a splash. There were people were cliff jumping and I knew I had to be one of them. Vigorously, my brother and I raced to the man-made stairs that took us to the top of the cliffs. Low hanging tree branches covered the area; my brother seemed to gracefully push them out of his way while I somehow managed to get my hair tangled in them and arms scraped. With every step I took, I watched as the some loose rocks tumbled down the noticeably steep peak. Finally reaching the edge, we gazed upon the tops of the oak trees and observed our sister, her fiancé, and our mom cheering us on. The countdown began and we leapt off the red rock terrain and plunged into the deep, chilling water. Once my brother and I popped our heads back up for air, we were both in conclusive agreement and knew we had to go …show more content…
For some it may be something simple like a birthday when they received their favorite toy, or possibly the day someone finally got their extravagant, dream wedding. For me, though, it’s the simple pleasure of being with my family and sharing new experiences together. Sometimes it seems I don’t slow down enough to really take a deeper look at all the amazing things that surround me in my day-to-day life. That is why road tripping with my family to new locations is exceedingly important. At the beginning of my Christmas break, I was sitting by a smoky, hot fire with some hot coco with marshmallows in it with a warm blanket on a cold day. On the second day of break, I was riding my four wheeler drifting on the icy roads trying to go get more wood for my family's fire at my grandma and grandpa's house .But when I got there and there was a big puff of smoke in the back and it smelled like a fire so I ran back there, but it was just my grandma and grandpa making a fire so they could roast marshmallows so I joined and roasted marshmallows with them then I got my wood and rode back home.…

As we arrived, all you could see in the cove were boats lined up and tied together, people jumping from 30 feet into the water below, and the sound of people laughing and having a good time. We tied our jet skis to the side of my grandparent’s boat, took off our life vests, and jumped into the water. As we swam to the edge of the cliffs, I remember the sound of the waves crashing against them from people jumping and boats coming and going. Once we climbed out of the water and made our way up the steep cliff, I remember thinking, “I hope I don’t slip and fall”. Surprisingly, as clumsy as I am, we made it to the top with no problem.…
