The heat of the sun was pounding down; I could feel my skin start to boil and my pale completion turning into a pinkish tint. It was the hottest day of the year 34 degrees with no cool breeze from the wind. Excitement grew as we were closing in on the biggest rugby tournament of the year. It was our last practice before the weekend we could feel the energy brewing amongst us. The pitch was filled with players, coaches, equipment, and the smell of freshly cut grass ready for it to be turned upside down. A nervous feeling ran through my body it started to build up as if I were a volcano ready to erupt, I knew this feeling was going to last all weekend.

They had quite a few big players on their team and it made us realize they were going to give us a run for our money. After the whistle blew on the first half we knew that the second half was going to be a lot tougher, the coach wanted to see the forwards break there forward pack if we were going to win. The second half begun again, and they scored within the first 5 minutes the score was tied at 21-21 and the clock was running down. There was a brief moment when the captain called us together and said, “this is our moment to shine, we show this school that they should have never stepped foot on our turf”. The last play of the game and we could see the coach from the corner of our eyes tell us “FORWARDS” we were getting ready for a scrum. As we crouched down the players from Shanghai were beat and exhausted in this moment we all knew what to do. The ball came in there was moaning and groaning from both teams we could feel the ball moving back towards our players. All of a sudden the ball was out in a flash and was passed to my teammate next to me, I grabbed his shirt and ran for our lives. There were four of us running down the sideline passing the ball between us we could see the try line just inches in front of us. As I was tackled I felt my teammate behind me quickly grab the ball, as I looked up flat on my back all I could see was his number and his cleats passing the try
