Personal Narrative: My Golf Game Of My Life

My Golf Game Golf has always been in my family. My dad plays, my mom used to play, my granddaddy played, and my papa plays. I never really played until two Novembers ago I started. My dad decided that if I wanted to participate, I could. We went out to Man O' War to start taking lessons. This was the beginning of my wonderful fun filled golf career. We started out a Man O' War golf center. I took lessons every Thursday. I went from being really bad, to not terrible. I kept on getting better and better, but then I hit a point where I leveled out and was not getting any better. I did Lexington Catholic Middle School Golf, but I did not really enjoy it, and it did not help me very much. Maybe it was because, I didn't practice too much, or maybe because this method just was not working for me. Every time I went out on the course I did not play well, and when I went on the driving range, I did not hit well. It made me so frustrated almost to the point of tears. I …show more content…
Over the course of this past year, I have continued to take lessons from him. I was doing extremely well. Unfortunately over the winter, I hit a rough spot due to laziness and the cold bad playing weather. Larry was disappointed, which made me sad, so I whipped into shape. As the leaves started to grow on trees, so did my determination. I began to start practicing everyday again, and I started to get really good. As I kept on growing in skill, I was facing another battle. People knew that I played golf, but I was still too embarrassed to talk about it. From my experience, people my age have labeled as boring, and a lame sport. I really struggled mentally to tell people and still have problems with that today. Golf might seem boring to watch, which do believe sometimes, but playing it is a completely different thing playing it, and other people just did not understand that.
