It was a long and interesting summer for me. One of the best decisions in my life was taking a gap year off after high school. I had all the time in the world to find out who I wanted to be and how I wanted to pursue my future. The lucky ways I was able to expand my knowledge was traveling and working full time. However, the opportunity to travel with other DACA (Deferral Action for Childhood Arrival) students to Mexico City was open to me, during this one week out I was allowed to join the Mexican government conferences on how to help youth. The Houston runway was quickly disappearing beneath me, the plane ascending, leaving my stomach dismantled on the tarmac. I couldn’t believe what was happening. I was truly on a plane, by myself, headed to Buenos Aires, Argentina.
