Improved Essays
I am Alexandra Papazian and I am 14 years old. I am in 9th grade at Andover High School. I am liking my Freshman year at Andover High School. Over the summer I was very nervous for high school but it isn’t that bad! Right now I look up to a lot of people. I look up to my mom and dad a lot. I don’t really look up to my brother at all even though he is older. Influential people in my life right now are empowering women such as Lauren Jauregui, Dinah Jane Hansen, Ally Brooke Hernandez, and Normani Kordei. They inspire me a lot to be a better person. Also, they are in a band called Fifth Harmony, which I am a fan of. I see my cousins Cassandra, Kaylee, Keira, and Gracie a lot. I see my cousins on my dad side a few times a year. I also see my grandparents …show more content…
Right now some of my close friends are Maddie Tutwiler, Quinn Soberiaj, Sarah Kelly, Aanya Parmar, Lauren Sorabella, Kathleen Macy, Kayla Dibenedetto, Sofia Sauma, Ava Pratti, and Mary Kennedy. I also have close friends from my volleyball team such as Molly Pritchard, Inhye Kang, Abbie Ledoux, and pretty much everyone on my team. I hope that over the next few years I am still friends with most of these people, but also I hope to have made more friends. I feel that some people will change over the years. I already feel that I am becoming more distant from some of my friends from middle school because of sports and how I am not really spending a lot of time with people who aren’t in any of my classes or on my sports team. I would be really surprised if I am still friends with all my friends right now in three years, but I would like it to happen. I would like myself to keep most of these friendships strong throughout high school and later in …show more content…
Right now I don’t really know what colleges I am really interested in. Also, right now I want to be a teacher. Preferably 5th grade or Middle School. So, hopefully I get into a good college for teaching. Another one of my goals is to have learned a lot of things throughout high school. Some education things, but also life lessons. Things that I can take with me on the rest of my life. Also, a goal is by graduation I will be prepared and ready to start a new chapter of my life which hopefully be college. I anticipate when I graduate that I will be a person who sets goals and achieves them. In three years when I graduate I hope I have some goals for the future after college and a career. I hope those goals are achievable and are good goals. In three years when I read this I hope I got good grades through my classes and learned a lot. I hope that overall my high school experienced was well enjoyed and fun. I hope that I met a lot of new people that I will be friends with forever. A value I feel strong about is women's rights. I feel that being a woman you have to work harder than men to achieve some things. I think that over the next three years I will feel more passionate about that and still hold true to that value. Three things currently that make me happy are music, volleyball, and my friends. I love to listen to music such as Fifth Harmony. When they release new music it makes me very happy and I listen

"Success is the result of perfection, hard work, learning from failure, loyalty and persistence" I have had many ups and downs over the course of my life thus far. One specific example of this took place during my freshman year of high school. When I started high school it was very challenging for me, partially due to the fact that; during this time, I was lazy, unmotivated and did not really take school seriously. This by far is one of my biggest regrets to this day. Who would ever think that not trying during my freshman year would continue to follow me throughout the course of my academic career.…

Goals are something that I have always thought about in my life. Whether it be graduating high school, passing a test, or going to college. Back then I had a lot of simple goals that were easy to accomplish, but now it’s time to start making those goals much bigger. As for my first goal I would like to graduate college with no complications. To do this I will have to always stay on task, turn work in when it is due, and taking care of things before it’s too late.…

For the past year, I could only provide an indefinite answer to a frequently asked question, How was your freshman year? In fact, those of us who experienced our freshman year could be addressed as “college veterans” will never initiate a conversation with regard to the past year. Perhaps they consider that the freshman year was not as consummate as they initially planned. I cannot judge my first year in college was successful or frustrating, but I feel I benefited from the meritorious experiences and practical knowledge gained from my college life. In my opinion, no matter what goals one wishes to achieve in college, whether its grade, love, health, or sense of accomplishment, one has to be prepared for both failures and…

The semester before my freshman year I applied to an early college high school; I knew that I was going to have more work than if I had went to the traditional high school, but I knew I could do it. At first I was doing well, but as time went on the work became more challenging and frequent eventually my grades fell and took my pride with it. I wanted to transfer to the traditional high school in my neighborhood, but changed my mind after a talk with one of my professors. She helped me to recognize that if I quit not only would I be throwing away the work that I did do, but I’d also be preventing myself from seeing what work I could do. I took that seed of information and turned it into a tree of motivation.…

My freshman year of college I struggled greatly with the cost of college. I had moved out of my mother’s house and was living with my grandmother. I worked a part time job of 15 hours while taking 19 hours of school. Because I did not have my own place I was still considered under my mother’s income. My mother does not make very much money.…

The day of August 27, 2012 I was officially titled a freshman. One look down those unknown red and blue walls, will forever change my perspective of high school. There was an instant moment of disbelief in my freshman, I was terrified, and no thought came to mind as to how I was going to survive high school for the next four years. Of course I knew it'll be different from my tiny middle school, but will it be like the cliché movies about the upcoming of age, or resemble the happiest times of life. From that first day, I knew I wasn’t like everyone else.…

High school changes people. They express themselves, become opinionated, and they start to look at the world differently as they experience things they have never encountered before. A wise Oliver Wendell Holmes said, “Man’s mind stretched to a new idea never goes back to its original dimensions.” This quote is an excellent way to describe my experience in high school.…

The end of the day comes whether you have gotten up to do something productive or if you have simply remained inanimate while time moves around you. I have found that the present slips away while you are worrying about the future. We are constantly telling ourselves that if we just get through this, then everything after will be better. We forget to appreciate the moment while constantly reaching for a hypothetically more fulfilling life. Once we graduate high school, or get through a challenging class, or finish a workout, everything after will get easier.…

One goal I wish I had worked a little harder towards would be my participation in class discussions. I have always been really shy and especially quiet in class. Oftentimes I would know the answer to a question or have an idea, but not matter how hard I tried, I could not bring myself to raise my hand. I wish I had improved on this skill because in the upcoming years, it will become crucial for me to participate in class discussions. Another goal that I did not meet was improving my nonverbal delivery skills.…

Everybody has that friend that ends up dragging everyone along when they’re dead set on something, for me that person was my best friend Lexy. The summer after my senior year was when Lexy and I decided to make a list, well she decided to make a list. It was like a bucket list, and we wrote down all the things we wanted to do together that summer before we started college. We were finally graduated from high school and excited to finally be adults and have some freedom. It’s the friends you have and the experiences you have with them at the young age of eighteen that impacts and stays with you forever.…
