My First Time Babysitting
It was a dark rainy Friday evening, school just let out for the weekend and I was free except I still had one thing to do left, as I was doing a weird walk jog across the campus while trying not to get soaked just to get to the main building, as my phone started to make this weird ringing noise and obviously I got a bunch of looks. When I looked at my phone I saw that my dad was calling me and when I answered my dad told me not to walk home in the rain and just wait it out. Once I got to the main high school building, I walked through the maze of hallways and lockers, and finally just finally I made it to the front of the building. It was still pouring down rain when I looked out of the window, by this time the storm was almost through

It was about 3:45 in the morning on a Sunday, where I found myself and my excited, wide-awake, good-looking boyfriend driving down a dark, eerie road to a hospital that was 61 miles away. Those 61 miles felt like light years to me I didn’t feel right all day today, I had a feeling deep down that my body was telling me that it was time. I was as nervous as I possibly could be, however, I had to remain completely calm because I could possibly be in labor and our first baby could arrive any time. So There I was, just Sitting there in that fast moving car, patiently waiting for the top of my big-ole belly to become super tight, tighter than a rubber band wrapped around your stomach 1000 times.…

A third potential way I see this article by Jessica Lahey relating to me is as a future. I may be young, but not too young to think about how my upbringing and temperament may impact my future parenting style. I think myself and others my age should take this piece and think about the magnitude of the advice the author is offering. I do not want to be the mom who puts her children at a disadvantage by never letting them stand on their own two feet. I have a strong maternal instinct and desire to protect.…

This fall break was a fall break that was absolutely but on the top of my list for the most memorable breaks that ill never forget and cherish forever in my heart. My 2015 fall break kicked off with the school movie night that happened in a way that I never thought of going down. I was surprised to be the first one there when I’m always late to church. The movie that we watched was “ the Martian “ that was honestly boring and used so many big words that I’ve never heard of or even use myself. While everyone was in the movies enjoying their greasy, salty popcorn, stall candies and there watery drinks I was outside in the cold waiting with my friend carol for her friend who never showed up.…

Surrounded by a team of nurses, one doctor, and what seemed to be a grouping of blinding lights, I had a peculiar moment of serenity. I can’t quite explain whether it was the epidural or the fact that for twelve hours my body was engulfed by excruciatingly painful contractions which seemed to be attacking me in a sporadic manner, but in that one moment everything was perfect. Somehow I just let go off every single fear I had, I just remembered that in any moment there would be an extraordinary occurrence. Although a natural part in many women’s lives, since the beginning of time, it was a phenomenon in my life.…

What if these legends that are passed down from generation to generation by the word of mouth or electronically have truth to them? It all started after my first cheer practice. The cheer team was laying around on the freezing, uncomfortable floor in coach Cook’s classroom waiting for the longest cheer parent meeting to be over, when one of the girls say,”Instead of sitting here bored out of our minds, let’s play a game!” One girl comments,”Let’s play HIde and Seek around the school!” All of the cheerleaders agreed, and someone started counting and we all started running through the cold, creepy hallways. My friend and I ran to the girls, smelly bathroom, all I could feel was my friend breathing on my neck.…
