BEEP! BEEP! BEEP! The golden sun is high in the sky beaming into my window. I reach for the snooze, but decided today I am thankful for my alarm, because today is the day I go on my dream vacation to Honolulu with my mother and father. This was the greatest birthday gift I have ever received, which costed fourteen hundred dollars, but it was well worth the price. As I gather my overflowing bags to head out the door I almost forgot my drivers license. Without that my family would not be able to rent a car to explore Hawaii in. “Jessie are you coming or what?” My father shouted up the staircase. “Yes father I’m just grabbing a few more things.” I exclaimed with my hands full of bags. “Ok, Our flight sets out in an hour and we need to …show more content…
I’m coming now!” Holding everything I practically own.
With barely any room to sit in my mother’s 2010 Chevy Tahoe I somehow managed to fit in between two massive suitcases that could probably fit a cow inside. We begin our drive to the Atlanta, Georgia Airport. “So What are you mostly excited for Jessie?” My mother asked as she puts her Ray ban aviators on. “Um… I’d have to say I’m most excited for the water sports! I heard they had snorkeling, surfing, jet skiing, tubing, and even parasailing!” I said with excitement in my eyes. “What about you mom?” I ask look out the window. “I am excited to explore the beautiful clear water beaches, volcanoes and other areas in Hawaii!” As she looks at me through the rear view

The airport smelled like jet fuel and freshly brewed coffee. We had ten minutes to board the plane, while cutting in front of a crowd of people my father threw our luggage onto the conveyor belt and handed our tickets to the flight attendant. The flight attendant sent us on our way and we began to look for seat C12. The airplane was congested and smelt like sweat. We found our seats and tried to avoid the smell by drinking our Red wine and eating the famous airline pretzels. The flight takes about twelve hours and thirty five minutes. During this time My family and myself took several naps and read vogue magazines wishing we were as rich as

Growing up in Hawaii, you're faced with multiple fun opportunities. For my self born in Kamuela of the Big island, being in the center of the island opened up many doors to many different activities. I grew up on a long narrow road that had many bumps and pot holes up and down the entire road. At the top of the road there was a small grade hill that I would bomb with a skateboard. My house was about three quarters the way down the road.…

The waves softly crashed along the seashore and drew themselves nearer and nearer as if they were signaling for me to join them and play their games. Each year, a pilgrimage to the Florida or Alabama gulf coast is a highly anticipated and enjoyed event for my family. In the beginning, it was just my wife and I. Man oh man, these trips were some of the most relaxing times that I can remember. Now, our yearly “beach fest” includes our two children, Kaylee and Garrett. While this is still a wonderful family event, I no longer use the phrase “relaxing”. Elbert Hubbard once said, “No man needs a vacation so much as the man who just had one”.…
