Personal Narrative Essay: My Dog By A Dog

Good Essays
This story is all about the time my eye got scratched, by a dog! Okay so let's back it up and start at the beginning of the day. I remember that specific morning was Thanksgiving day of either 2008 or 2009. I don't remember much about the morning but I can recall my mom talking on the phone a bit, then coming out and dressing my sister and I. We were still young and couldn’t properly pick our clothes out, especially since this was a special occasion. My mom knew this lady and they were good friends. She didn't have any children but instead, she had 2 huge Dalmatian dogs, one a boy and the other one was a girl. So my mom tells us all this while she's squeezing us through fancy dresses, white tights, and little sparkly shoes. My sister is a huge fan of dogs and she loves all dogs, no matter their gender, color, breed, or size. So naturally, after …show more content…
It was a very long car ride, and to a little girl in a hot stuffy dress, a long car ride feels like forever. We arrive at the lady’s house- finally, and my sister is like a bee attracted to honey, in .5 seconds she’s petting the dogs and playing with them and having the time of her life. I was a little more behaved and started playing with the dogs after a couple of minutes. The dogs had short fur and every time you touched them you would end up with their little hairs all over you. You could imagine the looks my mom gave me after I wiped my hands on my dress and all over my face. I was a mess.

A little bit after arriving, we were called to the dinner table, not before we washed our hands and faces first of course. Then it was time for the delicious Thanksgiving dinner. We had some of the classics like the infamous turkey, mashed potatoes, and cheesy casseroles. But then we had some of the best Egyptian food ever, and I can't really remember the specifics but I do remember that it was pretty good and we all stuffed ourselves to the max. As if that wasn’t enough there was still

That Friday after school, my mom and I decided to get some supplies for the possible new pet that would be joining the family. “I’ll be in the car!” I screamed to my mom, which was a lie, knowing that it would make her hurry up. I treaded out to the car and waited for my mom. After a good 5 minutes of sitting in the heat, she finally got in the car. “Ok what do we need, I’m kinda new to this,” my mom said to me thinking I have had some prior experience with a dog.…

“How big do you think she is?” Megan asked my mom. “Not more than 5lbs.” my mom quickly answered. We all agreed on getting the one Mary-Kate had in her arms and brought her home. When we first got home she was just a tiny puppy in a big house with 6 kids crowded around her and another big dog. We debated all night what we should name her because we wanted her to have the same initials as us girls because she was a girl as well.…

Georgia is probably the best dog ever in my opinion. I can take her on walks without a leash and I don’t have to worry that if we leave the gates open that she’ll run out. Everyone knows that when they see me, Georgia is somewhere close, and if not she’s either sleeping, eating, or going to the bathroom. I’ve missed her a lot since I’ve been away at college. My parents have even noticed a difference in Georgia as well.…

Taking Home Gus Between my sister and me, I have always been considered the “wild child.” My sister, Becca, was the one who was well behaved and mature; she was the one who could be trusted. Though we do own a dachshund, Rusty, I have always wanted a dog I could call my own. I have always wanted that “best friend” type of relationship with a dog.…
