Narrative Essay On Being Twins

When I was fifteen years old, I realized God intended my sister and me to be twins. We were worshipping in the Georgia Dome to the music of a praise band and I realized we were standing the same exact way. I had my hands raised, eyes closed, face to the sky and sure enough, she was in the exact same position. Standing with our feet apart and swaying back and forth, we were both singing in voices that had always sounded alike. Sure there were events leading up to this that made me think we were alike but having this realization made me positive that we were supposed to be twins. Maybe I just spent a few extra years in my mom after she gave birth to my meant-to-be-twin, or maybe my parents are lying to the both of us about her real age! Something was going on, and I was set to figure it out. The both of us are incredibly tall, the exact same five feet and nine and a half inches. Only twins are the exact same height, another reason we weren’t just sisters, but exact copies of each other grown together in our mom. She was taller than me for a while but when I reached eighth grade, I had a major growth spurt and grew to her height and since then, we have grown together at the same rate. …show more content…
As The Fourth of July rolled around, there were numerous plans in place for celebrating the holiday. I could've stayed at my workplace, two hours away, and saw fireworks with my friends or I could’ve gone home and spent The Fourth with my family. I ended up going home from work for the day and spending time with my family to watch fireworks and catch up on the summer’s events. My sister, having the decision to take a well-paying babysitting job or stay home, also chose to stay home with our family. Another thing that makes us so alike is that we always put family first. It's always more important to the both of us to make our loved ones, especially family, a priority in our

I interviewed my seventy-five year old grandpa Donnie, researched the Voyles lineage book that my grandma Arlene helped compile, and talked with my dad in order to find out more about my family’s history. According to Grandpa Donnie, it all began in 1759 when Jacob Voils, his wife, and his four sons landed in Port Charleston from Wales. Jacob was a poor man and could not afford the family’s way to Charleston. Desperate, he made a deal with the ship’s captain to indenture his oldest son William Voils as a crew hand for four years in exchange for the family’s way. Upon regaining his freedom, William furiously changed the spelling of his last name to Voyles to break all ties from his father Jacob.…

The mom got up with the kids and applied for a job at the Battle Mountain Intermediate School and was hired on the spot because she had a teaching degree. Her mother hated teaching because her own mother was a teacher and pushed her into getting a degree in that so she would have a job to fall back on if her plans on being an artist failed. She was so angry that her mother might’ve been right all along. The only thing that really unsettled me was when she was trying to Miss Beatty that she was capable of disciplining her students.…

In my opinion, giving birth had always seemed frightening, long and most of all painful. Surprisingly, my whole outlook on giving birth and its emotional impact changed when I gave birth to my first child, Joy. I remember the day as if it was yesterday, despite the fact that it took place almost nine years ago.…
