It was the beginning of freshman year, and I had to make a big choice in my life — a choice I thought I would never have to make. it had to deal with my education and something that had to be done. It wasn't easy, but it had to be stopped . It was the last day of 8th grade at Jimtown Jr High. I was having so much fun until something happened to make my day become a nightmare. A kid my age, he was taller than me He also had brown/ Black hair. He wore a Black Nike sweatshirt with jeans and Nike air max shoes that were Green and blue. My mom gave me choices of school that I could go to and they were concord, central, memorial or online. I had to make the hard choice of leaving all of my friends, but my mom told me “If they are truly friends, they will go with anything that makes you happy and if they can not accept that you have to do what is best for you then they are not true friends at all and you don’t need them. So I had to tell myself Memorial is a great learning school and there are a lot of great opportunities. Even tho it took me a little while I decided to go to memorial because of all the opportunities and all of the different people there. That is how I ended up at Memorial my Sophomore year and I am doing so much better grade wise and attitude wise because here I am so much happier than I was before. The people I have meet here teacher wise and student wise make me feel great and I finally got a fresh

"Success is the result of perfection, hard work, learning from failure, loyalty and persistence" I have had many ups and downs over the course of my life thus far. One specific example of this took place during my freshman year of high school. When I started high school it was very challenging for me, partially due to the fact that; during this time, I was lazy, unmotivated and did not really take school seriously. This by far is one of my biggest regrets to this day. Who would ever think that not trying during my freshman year would continue to follow me throughout the course of my academic career.…

The noise and commotion of hundreds of seventh and eighth graders in a crowded hallway wasn’t even enough to drown out his voice or hide his actions. I can still hear “Big Nose Rhodes” echoing through the hallways at Robidoux Middle School. I can still see the big smile on Kris Kerns’ face as he walked down the hallway across from me. He would whip his head back and grabbing his eye and out loudly over the crowd, “OUCH! You got me again, big nose Rhodes.”…

The day of August 27, 2012 I was officially titled a freshman. One look down those unknown red and blue walls, will forever change my perspective of high school. There was an instant moment of disbelief in my freshman, I was terrified, and no thought came to mind as to how I was going to survive high school for the next four years. Of course I knew it'll be different from my tiny middle school, but will it be like the cliché movies about the upcoming of age, or resemble the happiest times of life. From that first day, I knew I wasn’t like everyone else.…

My freshman year was one of my craziest school year. It came from fake hall passes, to skipping in the restroom, and acting all bad by getting referrals. I remember my ap secretary always used to call me “Diablo” just because i always got in trouble and she said i used to drive her crazy. I just never cared about the consequence of skipping so much, good thing I never got caught. Meeting new friends and new attitudes and a little more of responsibility and to be honest waking up so early every single morning was not that fun.…

Freshman and sophomore year are years you feel like you are invincible and also have a hard headed mind set, especially when you’ve been in varsity sport since freshman year. None of those ways of thinking and feeling help you do well in school or distinguish the real important things from the not so important things. My summer of sophomore year I tore my ACL during a game for my club team. I, being this stubborn sixteen year old teenager thought I would recover from the injury quick and be that “stud” from freshman year but turned out way different than I planned. Laying on my bed not able to do a single exercise or touch a ball left to right, my thoughts started to become really dark thoughts.…
