Personal Narrative Essay: My Crazy Moments In My Life

Improved Essays
Every family has their corks and share of embarrassing or crazy stories. Some have more than others and some try to hide them. I think it’s a great thing though, and they should be embraced. These crazy moments in our life can be seen as a hindrance or waste of time. However, these moments can be the best of them all if the focus is on the good side. Just because there is a rough beginning doesn’t mean things are ruined in the big picture. Well, this is one of those crazy moments within my family that turned out great. Just last summer my family and I had the most crazy, yet amazing vacation of our lives. We booked our vacation with two other families at an amazing beach house directly on the ocean almost a year prior. We would leave …show more content…
Bus tours were going on, so we asked a lady how much it would be just to see the basics of D.C.. Our parents quickly decided that was a no go, pricing was ridiculous. It was supposed to be a fun trip before our actual vacation, not an excursion to break the bank. We started our long walk just about noon. It was an unusually hot day, and none of us were feeling that vibe. All of us were in a relatively good mood up to the point we got to the Lincoln Memorial. That was our first stop. Then, we headed toward the Washington monument and then the states fountain thing. By the time we got to the odd fountain, all of us were hot, hungry, and done with this trip. We debated whether to go back to the hotel at this point, or go to the White House. Since we were already there, why wouldn’t we just tough it out? Well we did, and the White House you see on tv didn’t necessarily match what was in front of us. Construction going on, protesters with vast arguments, die hard Trump fans, vendors everywhere, It was more of a money making opportunity then beautiful history in my opinion. It was finally time to leave, which is what we’d all secretly been hoping for. We got lost on the way back to the cars, which doubled the walking time. We eventually got there though, but the trouble wasn’t done

Have you ever stopped caring so much that whatever happens, happens? I remember the time I had gotten in trouble by my mom because I had walked home from school. It was a gloomy day from it being so cloudy and cold. I was talked into walking home during school by friends whom, at the time didn't care about school as much as I did, cared nothing of school. I didn’t like it, but then again I started not to care either.…

When you were little have you ever did something you weren’t supposed to, and lied about it so you won't get in trouble. Many of us had, I was in the second grade and it was a Halloween special day. I was in school with my friends, Oscar, Gabriel, and Andrew. My second teacher was teaching us math that day. After that class we had lunch, we were all waiting to go to the event, our heart thumping like drums.…

It might be the biggest cliché in the world: girl goes abroad with family, experiences new, crazy adventures, and happily returns home with self-discovery, and memorable, yet hilarious stories. It was basically the plot of National Lampoon’s European Vacation, where the family encounters one challenge after another as they travel through England, France, and Germany, except it was my family. Although there were various obstacles throughout the trip, I learned a lot about life: culture, history, food, and most importantly, perspective and the simple necessities. Despite the overuse of the saying ‘life-changing experience,’ it definitely taught me that the best vacation is with family. After spending three weeks out of a suitcase, rotating through…

Senior Trip to Washington D.C. For my school, the senior class gets together and travels to Washington D.C. for three days. We left early Wednesday morning and rode in a charter bus down to D.C. and as soon as we get to there we start touring. We would tour the whole first day then go to a fancy restaurant that night. The next two days were, wake up, go to breakfast, then tour all day.…

I had been to the beach before, many times in fact. My mother always believed that the ocean was where she belonged so I had been many times throughout my childhood. When I started living with my dad, and my stepmother Jennifer, the opportunity to visit the ocean was never a possibility due to no one ever wanting to go. I had begged to go to Florida for vacation every summer, but we always went to Ohio. The situation changed in the summer of 2015.…

After anxiously waiting about fifteen minutes, our waiter arrived with three beautiful plates. He set down my plate exposing my eyes to three buttermilk pancakes perfectly placed together with a layer of fresh strawberries and a tower of fluffy whipped cream in the middle, sprinkled on top were small bits of nuts and powdered sugar. All I needed now was syrup but what syrup would I choose if there all sounded so good; From Original to Guava to Coconut to Honey Macadamia Nut to Honey Christmas Berry or Honey Rainbow Blossom. My older sister, a cousin, and I had decided we would be taking a summer trip to Honolulu, Hawaii.…

Spring Break 2014… Helmand Province Afghanistan. A heat comparable to the feeling of opening a hot oven, blisters two Marines as they talk to pass time during their patrol. “Yo Webb, what are you doing when you get out of this shithole country and ‘EAS’ (end of active service)?” asked one, “Well, gonna use my GI Bill, live that college life and make something better of myself…” replied the other Marine as an explosion goes off interrupting them. What is free is not free, someone out there, somewhere, fought for it one way or another.…

“A handful of moments I wished I could change, but I was carried away,” are the lyrics that remind a lot about myself. Growing up, and even about two years ago, I was insanely shy and did not talk much around people, friends, or family. The way I talked to people was in a timid, soft spoken way, which looking back, was awfully embarrassing. My friends and family would laugh at me because I could not talk well, and when I did talk, they acted as if I were a baby who just said its first words. With all of that nonsense going on, their idiotic response kind of made me not want to say anything anymore.…

My Junior year of high school was my challenging year, the reason to that is because we had to study for our Act also we had our grad MCAs to take. I must say it was really difficult knowing that we had those two big major tests in the same week. The amount of studying was ridiculous but in my head for a whole two months I was reminding myself that it will benefit me in the future that I need this to graduate. One part I didn 't have to worry was a portion of the MCA like the Algebra part. But the part that was extremely hard for me was geometry.…
