Since I moved out last January, I’ve come a long way. Starting off I had a few pairs of clothes, shoes, and a hundred dollars in my bank account. Thankfully I didn’t have to pay rent or any utilities at my friend’s house. I was supplied with a bed and a couple pillows, which helped a lot. It taught me to really appreciate the small things in life and not to take things for granted. I was oblivious to things like this before moving out, I took many things for granted. I was just thankful to have someone take me in and give me a place to stay. It was a rough couple weeks after that. I couldn’t focus, and I didn’t have much motivation to go to school. I had many more impactful situations in life that motivated me to be who I am today. If I had an option to go back and change things, I don’t think I would. Moving out was the best decision of my life. All the struggles I had to endure along the way have taught me a lot. It truly has shown who I am when things don’t go well, and I like that person. It’s been a full year since I’ve talked to my dad, but I’m enjoying doing the thing I love without him and that’s playing college baseball. Time will only tell when things will change and can work things out, but for right now I’m doing what I have to do to succeed in life without
