John F Kennedy Airport Narrative

It was a cold and snowy December 2nd when I arrived at John F. Kennedy airport. It was a beautiful night, like those you see in movies. I was 7 years old when my parents decided to move to USA. It was my first time on a plane and I was so nervous, everyone around me seemed so different, or so I thought. My parents decided to move from Argentina to New York City, it was like going from one end to the other. Moving to another country was already a big step, and the things that came after did not help with the adaption. As I stepped out of the airport I looked up to see a clear dark sky with white snowflakes falling on my face, it was the first time I ever saw snow and I thought it was the best thing ever. I was wearing a big red furry jacket with brown boots and white gloves, as I was holding my mother’s hand I noticed one of my gloves was broken and two of my fingers slipped out. I decided to play with the snow while my family and I waited for the taxi to arrive to take us to our new home. It snowed every single day in New York, and I was so bored of being inside the house all day long. I wanted to go out and see the people and tall buildings I used to see in the movies. I promised myself that I would try to help anybody I could. Throughout the years I met a lot of people who didn’t speak English well, and I tried to help as much as I could, since I was bilingual I thought it would help in some ways, and it definitely did. I believed that being bilingual would help me and would be beneficial to me. I was able to have many job opportunities, as well as have better communication with people. All those kids who used to make fun of me for not knowing English and for being new to the country will grow up knowing that making fun of somebody for not being able to communicate efficiently shouldn’t be
