(Angel)ine The day Angeline came into my life I didn’t expect for her to change it. One day in mid-December my mom, my brother, Angeline and I were sitting in Angeline’s living room. We were there for somewhat of a prayer visit, to talk with and help each other through God with problems we may need a third-party perspective on. I was silent most of the time because I wasn’t used to or particularly interested in being there.…

After the service was over, we returned home and everyone went to bed. As I laid there, I remember crying out in shame and disgust for what I had done. I remember thinking how could I tell her that it was all a hoax and that I really didn’t believe in God. But, unbeknownst to me, my aunt and uncle had heard me crying. My aunt had explained to my uncle that I was crying because I had been saved and that I finally accepted Jesus into my heart.…

There are little bits and pieces of day to day life that I think of fitting together like a puzzle in order to form who we are. Some of the bigger events can have a profound ripple effect and can even change the way we perceive our friends, family and the world around us. Some of these changes are more subtle or subconscious, while others are very apparent such as a new job or a death. The most recent of these events was my grandmother passing.…

It was Sunday morning, and I woke up to the sound of a riotous drum beating. Later, I learned that this was to signify us to go the church, which was held in our town's meeting house. I got to sit on one of the better set of pews, since Laura's family is considered to be wealthy. I was forced to sit on that bench for what felt like forever (but was around 5 hours). When midday came, we gathered together and sat by the warm fire, eating and talking.…

I never could have guessed five years ago, when I walked onto the MWBC grounds that my world would change forever. I didn’t know it then, but that cozy little patch of land in the middle of nowhere would become the biggest influence in my life. I had no inkling that the people I would meet would become like a second family to me. If I had it wouldn’t have taken me so long to get there. Growing up I was very wary of summer camp.…

On August 26, 2005, I gave my life to Christ, and it was the start of a whole new chapter of my journey. I still remember that night vividly in my head.
