This summer, I went to Mandalay Bay and slept there for two days. On the second day that I got there, I rode the waves and went on the lazy river. I also went camping for one week with about 20-30 people in my scout troop. My scout troop is troop 980. I got to play water polo, go rifle shooting, shotgun shooting, and archery.…
Julius Caesar was brutally murdered by conspirators who apprised his beliefs. Mark Anthony was Julius Caesar's confidante and friend, so it's absurd to think he wouldn't do anything avenge his comrades death. Marc Anthony concocted a well thought out presentation to turn the citizens of Rome against the conspirators. The first step to Anthony's master plan is gaining Brutus and Cassius's trust. Marc Anthony sent his servant to assure Brutus that he loved Caesar but his allegiance lies with the conspirators.…
This summer I did a lot of activities. I went to Gatlinburg, Tennessee. Although ziplining and whitewater rafting was very fun, that is not what I am going to write about though. I am going to write about going to Lake Rudolph with my best friend, Valorie. Lake Rudolph is in Santa Claus, Indiana.…
Yes, I personally believe that under the correct circumstances and if it is in the best interest of the state in which the leader is ruling, and if they are causing massive damage that would be unstoppable otherwise it is ok to rid of them. However if there is a better way to take their power from them that is the route that should be taken. There are examples throughout history where rulers have been killed in unnecessary circumstances, and some where it was probably for the better. In Julius Caesar’s case though he was not really causing much harm to Rome or the Romans, but there were a group of people who believed he would become a tyrant. Brutus one of the conspirators spoke at Caesar’s funeral saying “Not that I loved Caesar less,…
Fellow good Romans, I come here today to express my sorrow and deep condolences for a man I only met but once. As barely a friend, but truly a follower, I praise and respect the man that lie before me. Brutus was humble, compassionate, optimistic, respected, and beyond all others a hero. But, with this hero came qualities that brought death upon Brutus, qualities that would be considered virtues under any typical circumstance. An honored aspect of any human is the ability to see light where there is darkness, have hope when there is despair, and see goodness where there is only evil.…
By the railroad Corry pulled the gun out of his backpack looking at the wood glow in the sun. He turned around and asked John if it was loaded, he quickly said, “Do you think I’m dumb? Would I carry around a loaded gun?” John says with a grimy smirk on his face. Corry lifted the shiny, red, six-shooter up, still cautious and stared at John.…
My teammates and I had a blast playing whiffle ball and Nerf basketball during our times off the field. Another part of this trip that is unforgettable is that we had a buffet tent which we were allowed to visit whenever we wanted and they served every food a kid could…
Brutus and Mark Antony have very different views which they clearly show in their speeches. Not unlike a debate which we often see today in politics between two political opponents. Brutus attempts to justify his killing of Julius Caesar using rhetorical question and antithesis while Mark Antony tries to defend Julius Caesar's legacy by using rhetorical question and apostrophe. Unlike many types of stories told today, movies, and pieces of writing. This story is hardly black and and white.…
Incident #1: Weapon on School Grounds In the 6th grade, when I was 12 years old, I made the stupid decision of bringing a knife to school. No one knew what I had planned. On the school bus on the way to school, I showed a young lady I went to school and church with the knife, she was in 8th grade. 20 minutes into my first period a dean came and got and it wasn’t until I was in the resource officer’s office that I realized that the person I showed the knife to had told on me.…
Julius Caesar Spring Final There are several occurrences that prove the theory that words are more powerful than weapons. In the play Julius Caesar a guy by the name of Marc Antony convinces a whole crowd of people to revolt against their leader. In Germany Hitler did a similar thing, he turned the people to his radical side. They used persuasive speech and gave the people offers that caused them to be loyal to them.…
Today was one of the worst days and the most tragic day for me and for Caesar. Diary, As Caesar, a group of men, and I were walking to the senate house. Many things occurred that were fatal and partially my fault. When we were all walking, a soothsayer came up to Caesar and told him why are you not gone and then Artemidorus tries to hand Caesar a letter, but I have no clue what the letter said. Later Trebonius called me over and away from the group.…
What happens when students are encouraged “To dream the impossible dream”? According to Giambattista Vico, students are capable to unlock their greatness, to release their innermost divine nature, to carry on to lofty and grandeur achievements, to triumph the sublime. For Vico, this is the heroic mind. The great philosophers of the past defined the “Hero” as one who forever, without pause, diligently pursues the quest for greatness and work all the while with good deeds and the betterment of mankind as a focus.…
What is the Greatness of a Change Agent? A great example of a Change Agent is Julius Caesar. A change agent is someone who makes a great impact on people and their lives and this is exactly what Caesar did. He made a number changes, and these changes were so capacious that they stood with the people of Rome. Julius managed to do more than he could imagine as a leader.…
