Life is precious
An old red Ford is roaring down a gravel road. She was known by most as “Ole Red.” The gravel was thrown around vigorously through the force of the tires as she raced down the road. Four high school juniors were on board enjoying the good times before the real world. All of were cutting up, and having turns putting Ole Red to the test. These teens were just having fun, they could not have known what would come next. A quick turn of the wheel later and the truck flipped. The four juniors would survive but not without a newa new realization on their outlook and value of life. I was on of those juniors.
School was going to be uneventful that day so we skipped the entire school day. We wanted to change a mundane weekday into a new adventure. Some adventure it turned out to be. We were on a mission to fish to our heart's desire; our desire was some big bass. We ended up being out there for hours with not a nibble or bite. We wanted to spice up the boring day playing hookie had given us and came to a conclusion to take my red truck on a joy ride through the country. Four teenagers an old Ford, and a crazy look in our eyes spelled a recipe for disaster. My friends and I were switching back and forth in the driver's seat. I have lived a relatively clean lifestyle. I am also a relatively liked individual. I often dreaded most days that did not include the weekend or playing football. I learned that everyone is not promised another day on Earth. I do not want to waste the few years that I may or may not be given, so I started to dig deep into my faith. I plan on spending every breathing moment dedicated to serving God. Since then I have a reason to wake up blessed and thankful because I am alive and get to experience
