It was 7:20 when I finally stepped out of the shower and started my first job of being a mother and waking my brothers Alex and TJ up and getting them fed was the hard part. Everything after that was just simple reminders. We had become very efficient without my mother there she worked three jobs and went to school she only came home to eat and drop off money. After finally getting my brothers out of the house it was a long walk to school except for TJ my younger brother who went to school next door. Once he was at school I could take my part as sister instead of mother. My older brother Alex is only a year older then me so we grew up as siblings unlike the younger brother who knows me as a mother figure not a sister. The long walk to our school wasn’t so bad when I got to be a sister because it was like being a child again and that 's not a pleasure Alex and I had very often. Most often the time was filled with questions about school or maybe even relationship advice but my very favorite was when we talked

The four weeks passed by and before I knew it, I had cried farewell to the only home I had ever known. My safe haven where I took my first steps, lost my first tooth, and the kitchen where I baked my first batch of chocolate chip cookies for the school bake sale. I murmured goodbye to our private beach where I learned how to swim like a fish, and cried for hours after being stung by a jellyfish, a pain I would have graciously welcomed at that time if that meant having my life and house…

As the bell rang at the end end of sixth hour at school everybody was in a rush to get to the buses, their cars, or their bikes and head home. I packed up my stuff and thanked the teacher as nobody ever does. As I left the room I realized that it was Friday and that I get to go to my dad’s house for the weekend. The thought was both exciting and exhausting stating the fact that his little homestead was out in the middle of Wonder Valley, California basically a desert wasteland but very peaceful and wondrous and that I had to ride my bike for miles and miles to get there. As I hopped on my bike and before riding off I took a drink of water and made sure I had my phone.…
