Trees ain’t the safest place to be when hunting bear. They could join him in the tree if he didn't hit it in the correct spot. The spot is just up the front legs and right behind the shoulder bone. If he didn’t hit the heart, he’d have a bear either climbing the tree or trying to shake him out of it.

They everyone sat around the campfire that night. The next morning they packed everything up and headed home. When Jeff got home he continued what he was doing two days ago. He fixed some leaky pipes and fed his dog. He sat down to watch some tv and eventually fell asleep. Early the next morning a knock came to the door. It took Jeff a couple of seconds to finally get up. It was his buddy John, he had returned to the campground and retrieved the bear. He gave it to Jeff to do what he wanted with it since it was his kill. He decided to have it stuffed and hung on his wall. Everyday Jeff looks at the bear and is reminded of that time. Once in awhile John will stop and talk a while, but other than that, no other visitors. He and his dog now live a peaceful life in the woods, alone. It’s been 2 years since Jeff had seen another bear. Jeff hopes he never sees one again as to that it was the scariest experience he had ever had. When Jeff goes into town to pick up food and other goods he never leaves his dog behind. The dog is still jitterish around thing. Other than anything else, he lives a simple life in the woods, just like anyone else
