Personal Narrative Essay: It Was Going To Be A Long Day

"Today was going to be a long day." I thought as I walked down the peaceful sidewalk. The weather was the perfect. A careful balance between the gentle warmth of the sun and the subtle cool of a light breeze that frolicked around me. I was on my way to Vincent's house and was a bit apprehensive. Tonight was going to be a full moon; and -for me- quite a full night. "This will be a night to remember." I thought with a sigh, "A night I hope I don't regret."

I spotted his house from down the walk, the sight of it put my nerves even more on edge. "No," I thought, I was prepared and ready, "I'm not going to let my anxiety ruin this night for me!" As I walked up the steps it flared again and I thought to my self, "Am I really prepared for this? Hell yeah I am!" I stepped up to the door, took a deep breath and knocked. I just don't want you to get hurt"

"Oh honey," I said sarcastically, "having an 18 inch dick shoved balls deep in my ass wont hurt one bit. Vincent, of course its gonna' hurt, but you can't have pleasure without pain. But I'm willing to make that sacrifice. In the mean time, do you want me to make you a drink or something to eat?”

“This is my house, I should be the one asking that. But, since you asked,” Vincent said slyly, “I’d take a drink.”

“What do you want?” I asked.

“I don’t care, you know what I like. You should suprise me, your a good mixologist right?” He asked.

“Yes I am,” I said in my best official announcer voice, “let me see what you have and I’ll do my best!” I smiled and laughed to my self as I walked over to his kitchen. “Let’s see...” I said as I looked through the drinks, “I think I can make you an old fashioned.”

“What’s in that?” Asked Vincent suspiciously.

“Whisky.” I said flatly

“Huh. Well, carry on then.” He responded

Giggleing to my self, I countinued mixing him a drink. Once I had finished, I made my way back to the

As I stared across the bullet-torn battlefield I wondered how I ended up here; hiding behind a crumbling wall, clutching my gun as though it were a lifeline. How the young kid I'd once been now bore a dirty, camouflage patterned uniform. There I was, contemplating my life in the middle of a battle. I shouldn't have been surprised when a hand suddenly shot out in front of my face and smacked me upside the head. It was so unexpected that I nearly stumbled out from behind the rubble and right into the bullet whizzing by.…

“Cherry, Marcia, listen to us…just because we got a little drunk last time... ” Bob began as Randy was basically telling Marcia the same story. I could smell the beer on his breath. I remembered what he did in the drive-in, what Ponyboy told me about what happened to Johnny, and just about everytime he had gotten drunk. The tension infuriated and grew inside. I was not going to hear another one of his excuses.…

The gazpacho soup downstairs would have to wait until later. It was not often that Eutropio would reject his wife's simple cooking, but there was an urgency in his eyes that told of trouble. Seeing this she'd approached the window beside him. Peering out, the loving couple gazed down with a plummeting sensation in their empty bellies, acknowledging the three soldiers climbing off their magnificent stallions and turning with a look of disgust to the front door.…

Like a viper an arrow pierced out from the thorn ridden brush before piercing through the side of a wild pig, the tip driving it through the heart. Before the fat brown target could squeal in pain it collapsed, dead. The brown-haired owner of that arrow followed out from the bushes only a moment later, a short bow in his left hand and a quiver of arrows on his right hip. The young man held no excitement on his lightly tanned face, just a small glimmer of satisfaction in his own abilities hidden in his emerald eyes. With careful movements his calf-length leather boots slid through the brambles he’d hidden behind, taking care to not ruin the dark green trousers that tucked into them.…
