However we were both determined to make something out of our single supply. I went through my apartment getting ready for my big appointment in the backyard. On a whim before going out I decided to let all three of our cats outside. However, I kept one with me by putting a harness and leash on her. I decided so that she could keep my friend and I company while we figured out our tree house. When I finally got her situated I turned to my brother and tried to join me. I thought since it was just the two of us we could use all the help we could put the plywood into the tree. Nonetheless, he was immovable. I was at least able to persuade him to …show more content…
I decided that it would be faster using the back stairway that leads to the backyard to meet up with my friend. Once I was finally outside I walked to the fence on the other side of the yard where young trees were growing. I was tying my cat’s leash to a low hanging branch when my friend joined me. We started discussing what tree would be best for our operation. My friend and I both might only be in 4th grade, nevertheless we had our own ideas about where to start building our Treehouse. Every now and then I would look over to my cat to make sure that she did not weasel her way out of her restraining contraption. For the most part she would just lay there in the grass very annoyed about being chained to a tree. It was the final time that I had checked up on her when the start of an event that would turn my world around in a complete one-eighty

The crisp breeze rustled my hair as I walked out of my house on the fall September day with my dad drilling instructions into my head. It was my first Little League baseball game ever, and my dad wanted to make sure it wasn’t my last. Being seven years old and never touching a baseball was something that had scared me; a lot. I had no idea what to think about this foreign, petrifying, game could possibly be about. The car ride from my house was only a few minutes away from the fields where I would begin my baseball career.…

Volunteer Hours Today Jenna and I volunteered at the Oxford-Lafayette Humane Society. We spent three hours walking the dogs and playing with the kittens. At first I was hesitant to spend three hours at the humane society, but the time went by faster than I had assumed. The first place I went in the shelter was the older dog room, and instantly I was taken aback by how many dogs there were. There was this one older dog snuggled up in the back of the kennel, it had the most depressing look on its face and all I wanted to do was hug it…

I was 13 years old, just starting off high school, when I realized what this dark cloud that’s been floating over me for the past couple of months really is. It wouldn’t be until more than a year later until I seek out professional help. It started off innocently enough as just a feeling of constant emptiness at the pit of my stomach. It slowly turned into randoms bouts of extreme rage, where I’d take out my anger physically, not just on the walls and mirrors of my childhood home and not just on my family, but on myself. I couldn’t understand why I felt this way, why I wasn’t “normal”.…

My most valuable possession was my house. It wasn’t anything fancy or exquisite, but it was there that I had spent the precious moments, however few, with my beloved dad. I remember that we would spend hours playing, running around the arched, brightly lit corridors. On either side, I recall the large mahogany doors which would fluidly open to reveal ancient, chestnut-brown rooms with antique, twin bed frames which were confined within. I will never forget the uncanny gargoyles that were suspended onto the wall behind, the very same monsters who would assault my sleep and curse me with countless numbers of sleepless nights.…
