When employers find out that you played on a co-ed team, it will make you more compatible. No matter the situation, you will be able to overcome it because you have experience that made you interact with your opposite gender. Co-ed teams can provide a more social benefit rather than a same sex team. Some people will say it creates unfair competition, and that boys shouldn't be taking the girls spot on the roster. Although I don't think it would be fair for a male that has been playing soccer all his life, not to be able to tryout against a female that just started.…

About seven years ago I set a goal to advocate for a co-op soccer team at my school. I had played since I was three years old and was dreaming of playing during high school. This came to the forefront of my vision when I entered high school, so I talked to the athletic director, school board, and parents to persuade them to support a soccer team. Through this, the school finally joined a co-op for not only the girls, but a co-op for the boys as well. This came together my junior year of high school, which then opened up a new goal of mine.…

I did my observation at Miami’s women’s soccer game on September 6 against Florida International’s team. It also happened to be Senior Day, so a lot of families were there. There were also a lot of young girls wearing soccer jerseys, which makes me think that a soccer team was there. It was a very hot (around 90 degrees) and sunny afternoon, and a lot of people were sitting with umbrellas to block the sun. Both teams played very hard, but neither team scored until the last 9 minutes.…
