Personal Narrative Essay: How To Play Padel Tennis

Decent Essays
Two years ago, I felt unfit and I wanted to do some sport and as my husband liked playing tennis, we decided to begin to play padel tennis because it´s a team sport and only played in doubles.
It´s very similar to tennis, however, there are some differences. It´s played on a closed court and there are glass walls that can use during the game.
I began with padel lessons with a personal coach in a padel club in Ondara.
Then I didn´t still have a padel racquet. However, one month later my sister gave me one for my birthday.
Two months after my husband and I played our first match.
In the padel club of Ondara I met other women and we created a group to play women´s tournaments.
Now, I play padel tennis three days a week. It´s a very funny sport.

The world’s fourth most popular sport is a sport of focus, hand-eye coordination, movement, and competition. Tennis has been around since the 12th century, causing it to be extremely ancient. Like any other sport, it has witnessed discrimination against certain groups of people. The game has drastically changed its views and people that were once prejudiced-people of color and women- are topping the charts and adjusting the barriers even more by initiating equal pay and equal rules. The decrease of race and gender discrimination has increased the quality of play, and has changed the way that tennis is structured and viewed.…

Throughout my time at university, I have had the opportunity to be a member and captain of the Skidmore Women’s Tennis Team. To explain more comprehensively my own personal characteristics that make me an excellent candidate for Queen’s Law, I wanted to give you a glimpse into a moment that I think exemplifies the qualities that you are looking for in a law student. Every muscle in my body ached as I bounced the ball at the baseline, a slow and deliberate bounce 1….…

Tires crunched on the loose gravel parking lot as I was dropped off at my high school’s tennis courts on the first day of school. With my high school requiring a year of physical education, I opted to take the lifetime sport for I was nervous to compete for a spot on the highly competitive teams my school was known for. I was met at the court by 30 other freshmen with a mixed variety of expertise spanning from the first time to ever hold a racquet to a district ranked player. The district ranked player’s father, Mr. Weaver, was a sophomore chemistry teacher who happened to play tennis professionally in his heyday. Mr. Weaver volunteered to teach the freshman tennis team and to train them the basics before they were transferred to “the real…

It is her determination to succeed that has made her my favorite tennis player and inspired me. In order for someone to understand why she is a great player, they have to know how she became interested in tennis and her greatest achievements. Serena started playing tennis at the age of three in her family’s home in Compton, California. Her father, Richard Williams, alongside her mother, taught her and her sister on how the game was played. The driving force of her parents did not stop when their family moved to West Palm Beach, Florida when she was nine.…

The first day of open courts was really cold, I had stop practicing with my brother for about two years because he had to go to Alaska for the service. I then relearned how to hold the racquet properly and how to hit the ball over the net properly. Then I was introduced to Tilley, he was one of the best tennis players I have seen. Tilley would sometimes practice with me and give me tips on what I should do in a situation such as if I hit the ball back to the opponent then I should always go back to the middle of the far back white line. A couple months later from the first day of open court came the tennis tryouts, everybody made sure that they were ready for it.…

After crying for a few days I made the toughest decision in my life, to quit tennis. The thought had been mulling over in my head for a few days, heck, a few months; I would imagine a world where I had no difficulty juggling a STEM high school and a competitive sport that I would practice for 8 hours a day. But, sadly, that alternative world does not exist. Honestly, playing tennis and trying…

Gordon B. Hinckley had once said something along the lines of hard work paying off, if effort is enforced into the work. Over the years I’ve had in high school I have really absorbed the aspect of this, being able to work up and achieve opportunities for the preparation in the outside world. Seventh and eighth grade having to understand the concepts in the athletic sport tennis was hard for me to comprehend. Actually being able to have proper etiquette of holding a tennis racquet was key, but being able to hit a tennis ball was a ‘whole other ball game.’ All two years of playing tennis in middle school I can not remember a single time me nor my tennis partner won a match.…
