I was ten years old and Sadie, my sister, was thirteen year old. My mother used to be married to her father, making us half sisters. We both lived with our mom and my dad, however she went to her dad 's house every other weekend. Life was good as I knew it. My family was loving, caring, and seemed like any other happy family until my mother made one mistake that profoundly changed my life. “There’s a girl coming over that 's just about your age” my mom explained to me one weekend while my dad was out of town. The court issued Sadie and I to live with our mother and on the weekends that Sadie visits her father I also would visit mine as well. My mother rented an apartment for the three of us to live in. A sense of excitement came when I found out there were cool features like a pool and workout room. After getting well settled into our new apartment my mom confirmed that her and Jacob were now dating. The weekends I wasn’t at my dad’s house I would spend hanging out with Kayla. A few months later, my father unexpectedly picked me up from my mother 's and took my things with me. “You’re coming to live with me now” he declared.
