I proceed with the directions and begin going up against the opponent. “Did you really think that you were going to be able to pass me?” the guy asked as he pushed me down. Next, we have moved on to a five v five scrimmage. To be honest I was extremely timid to go out onto the court, not knowing how the other players are going to act with me while playing. The coach began to break us up into our teams and my team was on the court first. Of course the team that I was going up against were the boys who were talking about

It was springtime during the year of 2012, I was just about to start my summer. I was looking on the internet for sports to do in Kaneland, because I wanted to compete at a higher level. But I was not always comfortable with playing on a travel baseball team, but I knew this could be a great opportunity for me, so I took a risk and after all it, payed off. I asked “Dad would you think I would be able to compete and play on the travel baseball team” He smiled “Yes, but one thing I learned when I was young and playing baseball is; it is a game of mistakes, and the only way you can succeed is if you practice over and over to improve.”…

Heartbreak and hours of crying–that was the aftermath of finding out I didn’t make the travel basketball team in the fifth grade. I started playing recreational basketball for Montville in the third grade; since then, I had dominated the competition as I hit my growth spurt earlier than most of my friends. Not only was I taller than most of the kids I played with, but I was also faster and stronger. Coming into the tryout, I was confident in my abilities and believed that I would make the team. Upon finding out the results of the tryouts, I was devastated and felt cheated because I thought I was better than some of the kids that made the team.…

When I tried out for the basketball team during the winter of my freshman year, I hadn't even considered the possibility of not making the team. Before that year, I had played on travel and middle school teams. I knew that I wasn't the best player on the court, but I scored a few points a game, and I played decent defence. For the duration of the tryout practices, I thought that I was doing well, but apparently the coach did not consider me a good fit for the team. After a meeting with the coach on the last day of tryouts, I was forced to go home with a heavy heart and a tight stomach.…

One of the reasons I pictured myself on C team was because most kids going out for baseball were 8-10 months older than me and were about 4-6 inches taller than I was. But kids being older and bigger didnt not determined how hard I worked.…
