Personal Narrative Essay: Hard Labor Around The House

On Sunday weekend my parents and I cleaned every spec of dust in the house. I thought it would be like my mothers usual tidy up session. We would mop the floors, wipe down the kitchen, and I’d sweep the porch. This time was different. I woke up to my mother hammering away with her fist on my door.
“Wake up Mylin! Its 8:30 and time to clean”, she said.
“Ugghh, Mom it’s a Sunday” I groaned.
As she walked away from the door I gave a sloth effort to get out of bed. I wondered why she had awakened me so early. Mom never cleans until after breakfast. We only get up this early for special occasions. I went from my room to my parents’ across the hall. I looked for my dad but I couldn’t find him. I supposed he wanted to get out of rubbing mom’s feet after a long morning clean. I made no mention of it to my mom. She could care less where my dad goes as long as she has someone to make up for his work. I am usually the person who does the most hard labor around the house anyways. He had only been home for two days and my parents were ready to spend more money on him. Today I woke up to find that my mom and Dad went out for lunch and left Morgan my car. Go figure. I chose to hangout with Tucker today. Tucker is my best friend from school. I called him Bones because he was super skinny. He had dark skin with brown eyes, and wore the hand me downs from his older brother Travis who is very close with Morgan. He had horrible eyesight and made up for it with the thick lenses in his glasses. His memory was shot from smoking so much pot, and his hearing seemed to get worst every day. Mom did not like Tuck because he always seemed to find trouble. I couldn’t blame her. It was his weed in my backpack Morgan had found, but I couldn’t snitch on my best friend.
