Facing My Kayaking Fears

Smells of chips filled the air in our car as we drove to camp ,on the second hour, boredom fell upon me like it was some kind of disease. I really wanted to jump out of the car and go camping,so I opened the window , and BOOM,the fresh smell of spruce pine trees hit me and made me blink a couple times. It was amazing. We got to camp and met up with everyone. On the second day my cousins and I were sitting and playing some board games up in the forest, the scenery was very green and it smelled like pine trees, it lifted up my spirits and it felt like i was floating in a magical place somehow. We all wanted to go Kayaking, so we got the inflated boat and 2 kayaks and headed down towards the blue shimmering waters. I first went in the inflated boat because i was scared to go on the kayak. When we all started paddling out we decided to go to the other side of the lake, which was not seen from where we were.My uncle “Andrey” was paddling us out on the inflated boat with my cousin. We were still a little scared of what was underneath. We thought a big fish, maybe like a “Piranha” was going to eat us.Anyway, Andrey was scaring us the whole time. We were peacefully,Peacefully, talking when out of nowhere he screams really loud, and we get so freaked out that i almost fell out(Literally my cousin was holding me),but later we came to the other side and we decided to swim a little before we get to another place. We swam and then my two cousins said, “We are tired, can we go on the inflated boat, while you guys go on the kayaks.” Those words haunted me for like two minutes, and my cousin “Ella” and I just had to face our fears and get on the …show more content…
Later, after like 3 minutes of talking to them we parked our kayaks in the little weeds, and we started to climb a little cliff to the tarzan swing. On our way to the tarzan swing i met two bugs named “Freaky, and scary”(I believe we became enemies, because they both ran away)anyway we held the tarzan swing and we made those indian/tarzan sounds with our mouths. I got on the tarzan swing and i swung trying to make the sound while holding on to the rope, trust me ,the sound wasn’t a very pretty sound, we couldn’t jump in the water since it was to shallow but we swung on the tarzan swing ,and it was amazing x100. We had a ton of fun screaming weird noises out and swinging on the tarzan swing, and we just realized that it was getting really dark.So we quickly got in the kayaks and inflatable boat, and started paddling out.I went on the inflatable boat because my other two cousins (Angela and Vanessa) wanted to go on the kayaks. The trip back on the inflatable boat was very fun and when we got off the boats we were very cold and shivering so we got our towels wrapped it around ourselves and quickly went back to our

At the beginning of my Christmas break, I was sitting by a smoky, hot fire with some hot coco with marshmallows in it with a warm blanket on a cold day. On the second day of break, I was riding my four wheeler drifting on the icy roads trying to go get more wood for my family's fire at my grandma and grandpa's house .But when I got there and there was a big puff of smoke in the back and it smelled like a fire so I ran back there, but it was just my grandma and grandpa making a fire so they could roast marshmallows so I joined and roasted marshmallows with them then I got my wood and rode back home.…

I remember my uncle taking my cousins and I to Duns River Falls in Jamaica. At the bottom of the falls he took me from the shallow ends to the deep end, a good area where my head remained above the water if I stood on my tippy toes. My uncle laid his arms underneath me and taught me to relax and float. From time to time he would slowly remove his arms, allowing me to float without his support. I would freak out when I realized that his arms where no longer there holding me.…

When I was younger, I experienced one of the worst things to have happened to me since entering high school. It all started when I went to the beaches of the Mediterranean, seeing what my parents described to me, for the first time. Coming to these amazing waters; it was a comfortably hot day, with no sight of any pesky insects, like back home. Remembering where I was; the sky was the deepest color of blue I have ever seen, clouds were vibrantly white, looked almost like uncolored silky cotton candy as they drifted lazily across an otherwise perfect sky. There is nothing that can compare to that summer’s day; the sun’s rays were beaming, worming the rich sand as my feet sunk in between my toes it felt like the sand was giving me a massage.…
