We got out of the truck and I set up my gun. I shot it in the chest just below his right shoulder. It slumped into the hole. We walked up slowly and I had my gun out incase it wasn’t dead, but he was.We pulled it out of the hole and he was huge; at least 45 pounds.Since it was the beginning of winter, He was just starting to get a new, beautiful, thick winter coat.
We put it in the back of the truck and went home. On the way, Jason and Brad were calling around to try to find a taxidermist. We found one actually in Ucon where I was living at the time, in our neighborhood and took it to him. He was amazed at the size and said it was probably the biggest badger he had ever seen in his lifetime. He had a whole shed of stuff he was working on and stuff he had finished. There was a stuffed bear skins, wolf skins, badger skins, rattlesnake skins, stuffed birds and a whole bunch of other really cool stuff.
It took a few months, but I now have an awesome rug and its skull. I have it hanging up on my wall in my room and I have the skull on my dresser. It is super soft and its teeth and claws are huge.
