My parents and I switch off buying dog food. She has finished her puppy vaccines now, but still needs to get spayed. I take her to the dog park 3 days a week, and she has puppy play dates, with the new friends she has made there. Responsibility kicks in a lot harder when you have a living being on the line. My mother since then has told me how proud she is of me for constantly taking care of my dog. People would not realize also how much time goes into being responsible for a dog. They can not be locked up all day. Deja is one of the greatest things to happen to me. She has also taught me how to save tremendous amounts of money.
