Boston is my home “Haymarket, doors open on the right.” I quickly rose up to get through the cluster of people flooding the doorway. The orange line has become my go-to form of transportation Been living in Metro Boston since day 1, so I was destined to use the T. As I walked out of the subway, the familiar atmosphere that makes up Boston began to set in. Almost like I was walking into my own house. When I’m in Boston I already know I’m at home. Just as I have grown in the same house from multiple of years, I have made Boston a home as I have grown throughout my life. I have acquired everything about the city makes up a certain part of who I am and that I have grown into. To put it into perspective, Boston is the ultimate foundation of many …show more content…
As I look down the street before crossing I notice a fluorescent yellow line painted across with bold letters emphasizing “FINISH” and on top of it, it proudly says “Boston Marathon”. I begin to reminisce on the Boston Marathon and how not only how much I enjoy spectating the event but also how much I love the sports life in Boston. I have developed a passion for the sports in the city. As I look back up and begin to look around Copley Square I realize that we really love our sports around here. From the Red Sox hats to the Celtics Jerseys and even the multiple Patriots gear, I grasp the idea of how much everyone is involved. Just like the rest of the population I have my sports gear too, always ready to support. As I begin to look deeper into it, it becomes clear that its more than supporting the Celtics or the Patriots, or etc. but instead it about being prideful. I have always supported the Boston sports teams, but at the end of the day its more about supporting them because they’re from Boston rather than how good or bad they may be. I have always been proud of who I am and most importantly where I am from. That pride and support that I have developed all these years supporting the teams in the city has motivated me to be the person I want to be and keep pushing

While the 541,000 marathon finishers within the US all come from different backgrounds and have distinct differences, they are frighteningly similar in many aspects of their lives. Take for instance the level of training and determination each marathon runner has. Six out of the seven days every week for at least a couple months, they spend their days in the gym and out on the trails. One must build a body of muscle in order to complete the lengthy race – as is demonstrated by the father-son duo of Ken and Will Satre. Don’t let Ken Satre’s age or small stature fool you; he is a machine.…

The different fall sports had been presented, and as far as I knew, I had no plans whatsoever of participating in any sports—well, except for soccer which was a winter sport. As everyone dispersed to the different sections in the pavilion where each coach of the fall sports stood, I found myself sitting with others whose decision was like mine—not to play a sport. That changed when I heard one of my current best friends, Corinne, rushing down the bleacher stairs and begging me to go with her to the cross country meeting. I thought to myself, “hah, running long distance? yeah right,”…
