Towards the middle of the night I heard something nuzzling against the tent.
“Do you hear that?” I whispered questioningly towards Niko.
“Yeah, what do you think it was?” Questioned Niko.
“Let’s go check it out.” I insisted.
“Alright.” Niko said
Niko grabbed his bag and grabbed a small dagger, which he brought just in case. He went out first, and I was right on his tail. When we walked

We sprinted has fast as we could, with they coyote hot on our tails, we ran, and, run until, Niko tripped on a small cactus. The coyote was sure to catch up to him, but then I grabbed a small dagger out of my pocket and threw it right at the coyote, hitting it right in the foot. As a child growing up in Rhode Island, the smallest state in the Union, the idea of a vast planet brimming with civilization and culture was more like something out of a fairy tale than it was reality. So, when my father announced that we would be leaving the country to go to Scotland, the home of his and my ancestors, my world began to expand at a rapid pace. This trip could not have been timed more perfectly. The summer of 2007 marked the end of fourth grade, my first year at Saint Mary Academy Bay View.…

My reaction to this activity was that it was much more complex than I anticipated it to be. I had to replay the video multiple times and piece together Myla’s words. It took a combination of con-text clues, lip reading and replaying a several 5 second increments repeatedly to complete the dialogue. In our MLU example packets, there were lines of “indistinguishable dialogue” and I felt like that happened more often than just a few lines for me when I was playing the video.…

After just hanging out inside for awhile, we decided to go back outside. At a younger age, I would say I believed that I can only trust myself and my mother, this is because as a little kid my mom would always tell me that there are bad people in the world and that giving them any information about anything can be very harmful. But as I grew up and realized what was actually happening in my country I knew there were millions of others that were suffering against the “bad people” and we could only do something about it if the whole community came together to help. It was at that time when I was about 25, when I started to put some effort into trying to establish more just conditions within my country especially after the implication of extremely high food prices. This is when I started my first strike involving my…
