On 03/28/2016 at approximately 2123 hrs., I received a call from dispatch advising a subject in Michigan identified as Jason Mead, a Michigan State Trooper, was wanting contacted regarding his girlfriend, Amy receiving threatening texts from her ex-husband, identified at the time as Eric Hamby. (NOTE: it was later confirmed that the spelling was HANDY).
I contacted MEAD via telephone . MEAD advised he was dating AMY HANDY and her ex-husband in Kansas was sending her threatening texts and making phone calls. The texts and calls were making AMY fear for her life. I asked MEAD if they were wanting to press charges. MEAD stated at the moment they just wanted to see if Law Enforcement could make contact with the subject and ask him to stop. I asked if there was any court ordered no contact order. MEAD stated no there was not.
After speaking with Mead, I then went to the residence of the suspect. I met Sergeant David Smith at the location, and we were unable to make contact with anyone at the residence. I contacted MEAD back and advised him we were unable to make contact but would attempt to make contact again within the next couple of days.

Comments were along the lines of“if you come here you will be sorry”. Nothing that I viewed were threatening bodily harm. I asked HANDY if he was able to obtain copies of the text messages. He stated yes he could contact his phone carrier VERIZON and obtain copies. I asked HANDY if he was wanting to press charges against MEAD and HANDY. HANDY advised yes he
