How To Write A Narrative Essay About My First Day Of Conditioning

Great Essays
When thinking of an exciting and unusual time in my life, I think back to a time when I felt the highest thrill along with feeling very low. It was my freshman year of high school and me and my best friend Mike were ecstatic to try out for the baseball team at Forrest High School (now Westside High). We had been playing baseball together since we were kids and our goal was to be the next pair of great ballplayers to come through Forrest. The game was against our district rival Englewood High School and it was a nail biter. We had played them earlier in the season and we won so we had confidence coming into the game. It was a win or go home situation. Both teams were playing hard and giving it all they had. I remember like it was yesterday. It was bottom of the sixth inning and we had a runner on second base, score was tied 1-1. Tony tells the runner on second base to steal. The runner steals and the catcher for Englewood overthrows the third baseman and we take the lead

There was two outs and runners on second and third. The ball was hit and went between our third baseman's legs, the runner from third scored with ease. Their coach sent the guy from second and our left fielder Jackson Mayday was our last hope. He threw past the cutoff man and it was a perfect throw to our catcher Isaac Turner and he tagged the runner ending the game. We all threw our gloves and hats in the air and celebrated like crazy kids.…

I stared in at my catcher, Drew Wessel, beads of sweat fell off my forehead. It was the bottom of the sixth and we were one out away from winning the World Series, he flashed me a two which meant curveball. I checked the runner, got my grip on the ball, and checked the runner again. I lifted my leg and let go of the ball. We were the last game of the tournament, it was August 1st and the daylight was just starting to slip behind the Rocky Mountains in center field.…

It was springtime during the year of 2012, I was just about to start my summer. I was looking on the internet for sports to do in Kaneland, because I wanted to compete at a higher level. But I was not always comfortable with playing on a travel baseball team, but I knew this could be a great opportunity for me, so I took a risk and after all it, payed off. I asked “Dad would you think I would be able to compete and play on the travel baseball team” He smiled “Yes, but one thing I learned when I was young and playing baseball is; it is a game of mistakes, and the only way you can succeed is if you practice over and over to improve.”…

Our daily wiffle ball game was about to start. There was a wiffle ball game every evening behind the apartment complex I lived in. The game was played in a luscious green grass field with a monstrous hill in left field. The usual squad was myself, Ricky, Justin, Michael, Jonathon, Latrell, and occasionally Greg but his parents usually make him stay inside and play monopoly or some other dumb board game. Our teams were always different from the last game.…
