A frightening experience
Back when I was 12 Years old, I had a frightening experience which I will never forget. It was mid-day on a saturday morning and I was at a soccer tournament. My team and I had entered the tournament because they were giving a thousand dollar reward to the team that took first place. My parents had just dropped me off at the park that day and had to leave because my little brother also had a game that morning. A few hours go by and we have already won two games and we're off to the semifinals since we had gathered the most points and had scored the most goals. 3rd game was up in 30 minutes, so we started stretching. Those 30 minutes go by and the game is about to commence. …show more content…
Game starts and all seems good. We were 1-0 in the first 10 minutes of the game already. The opposing team kicks off since we had just scored and right away, my teammate takes the ball away from the enemy. I started running through the side-line. My teammate gave me a through ball and as I started to control the ball, the unexpected happened. The opposing player comes out of nowhere and slide tackles me. The opposing player had cleated me on my knee. I flew straight down to the ground and had stayed on the ground for the couple of minutes. I tried to get back up and walk, but as soon as I put pressure on my leg, I collapse right back down. I had still not realized that I was bleeding from my knee until my teammates noticed it and told me I was dripping blood. Then i was freaking out because I pulled down my sock and blood was just dripping down from my knee. I couldn’t walk or do anything because the adults were trying to help me by calming me down and giving me water while they dialed 911. I was scared didn’t know what to do since my parents were not there to help me. Since they weren’t there, I didn’t feel safe when adults would try to give me water or tried helping …show more content…
Five minutes later, the fire department and ambulance arrive. As soon as they got there, they put many things on my knee so it could stop the bleeding and they would ask me a lot of questions like “what is your name, what pain is it on a scale of 1-10”. The question that had me worried was when they asked “Are your parents here with you right now?” and I slowly said “no…”. After I said no, they asked me if I had anyone to come with me that was a legal guardian of me. They called my parents right away and explain the situation. My parents and even my brother were scared, so they left my brothers game mid-game. My Dad right away tried to find out what hospital I was going to be taken to so he could try to make it there before I did. The ambulance had taken me to Pomona Valley Hospital. While the paramedics put me in the hospital, I took a glance at the field and see my team yet score another goal. Along the way, the paramedics would ask me questions to calm me down and I do remember calming down a bit. He would always make sure my wound was not getting worse. He would take offs the wraps that were already on and put new ones on so there wouldn’t be any blood dripping. As soon as I arrived at the hospital, I could spot my
