In 2014, and the year I was fourteen years old, coincidentally, I went on a long trip out of the country. I visited four countries if I remember. It was England, Netherlands, France, and India. Some of this trip was for tourism purposes and some of it was just for meeting family and having a great time. So the first place I went to was London, England. I remember arriving into London Heathrow Airport and having such a great feeling of excitement. It’s been such a long time since I visited London and now I’m here to see the city again. I arrive at the airport, go through security and customs, and all that boring nonsense that any fourteen years old would care less about. My parents called for a cab and I was on my way to see my grandparents. The cab ride was long, but seeing the city was great. I saw all these pale white buildings, these billboards of ad’s I’ve …show more content…
This day was very long, exhausting, and tiring, but I did see a lot, though. We decided to finish up by going and eating some take out Chinese food from a fast food restaurant called, “Wasabi”. The guys there already upsized our order since it was the end of the day and they didn’t give a crap since the food was going to be thrown out anyways. I’m pretty sure he was homeless, since he always was in the same spot all the time, with the same dog, and the same cotton blankets wrapped around him. So I chose to go and give it to him because I felt that it would be better for him than for the trash. I even remember what I

The thing about running is that you hate it until it’s over, at least for me that’s true. Personally, I like running, and it gives me a chance to get out and work towards something. All throughout high school, I’ve run track, and for two years I ran cross-country, both are great sports. The two years I ran cross-country made me wish I ran all four years. If you’re part of more than one sport, it’s natural to choose a favorite.…

The purpose of a mission trip is not to save everyone or solve hunger. Many people who take mission trip have this mentality, and I 'm not going to lie, my first mission trip this is what I expected. I believed that I was going to be the one person to go down and “change” the people. This idea is far from reality, but I realize that you can make a difference in some people’s lives. I have probably spent more time gaming and watching others game than sleeping. I have been a gamer for as long as I could articulate memories. The first time I discovered games was like Christopher Columbus discovering the New World; a whole new realm of possibilities. The first thing I said when I got my brand spankin’ new console was “What the heck is this magical rectangle!?” Of course, my understanding of it grew, but not much can compare to the excitement I felt during those first moments.…

The Plane Ride When I was nine my family started a move from the tranquil suburbs of San Jose, California to the desert city of Windhoek, Namibia, located in southern Africa. My parents were taking myself, along with my younger sister and brother, around the globe because they felt a calling from God to be missionaries. All of our possessions were sold off, including my much beloved toys, until everything we had could fit into eight large suitcases. These suitcases are what we carried to the airport as we prepared for our journey. I felt no small amount of apprehension and excitement in what lay ahead of me in the new country, but an event I would experience in the coming flight would forever change and shape my perspective of how I see the…
