The car we saw earlier that night had come back and driven straight where we were sitting. All I could think about was how they could 've known that we were in the bleachers. The last time we had seen them was in the parking lot. Were they watching us? While they were driving towards us, they turned on their brights; we ducked down to where the car couldn 't spot us. Karlee frantically looked for the phone to turn off the ringer and the music; clever move. But what choice were we going to have to make next?
The night didn 't start out crazy like it did, later on. I was lying on Karlee’s plush comforter, flipping through the different TV channels. Karlee came in with a mouthful of Cheetos and a couple of snacks in her hand.
I have no exact knowledge of how long Karlee and I had been friends at that point, but I believe it was at least a year or two. We met at the beginning of Junior High and were nearing the end of the year; on our way to high school. I started getting close with her when she helped me with my grandma passing away, that 's when I knew that our friendship was going to become stronger. But that night was going to make our bond unbreakable.

I feel like I 'm getting cabin fever.” I chuckled,” Yeah we can grab a ball and go over to the school?” She shoved another handful of Cheetos in her mouth and nodded at my proposal. After a little time of eating and watching TV, we headed out for the school. We took our longboards and I was responsible for the basketball. The school was less than a mile away; however, we got there in no time. We took the quickest route to the basketball court; through the parking lot. The court stood right next to the football field. The field had a locked vehicle gate but is easily accessible on

As Chance secured the buggy, he watched Kat spread a blanket on the ground. She sat down, pressing her blue calico dress next to her ankles. Perhaps the mild April air reminded him of home, but somehow her simple action took him a lifetime away, to another woman, to another time, to memories he’d always hold dear to his heart. Thoughts of his own wife made him wonder how Jake had ever let Kat get away.…

After putting on our bright pink leotards and ballet shoes, which trust me we're not the most fashionable, we went out to the car to wait on Dianna’s mom. I should mention it was still raining as if the earth would flood outside, this made it slightly hard to hear but we ran out to the car anyway. Me, Dianna, and Dalton bolted through the door, sprinting to the car that Dianna had unlocked with the small remote. The cold rain made the humid, hot day not feel as bad as the rest of that summer had been, which was dry and hot. When we got into the car we sat for a bit but then Dianna decided she wanted to turn on the music so she jumps to the front seat of the car.…

The dying hours of her night were spent tossing and turning, filled with too much fear to sleep.…

The rest of the year was great to me, I finally saw the rainbow. I gained many new friends and I was/am doing fairly well in my classes. I overcame an obstacle of mine that was really large, and I am proud of myself for doing so. I finally got to see what it looks like when the clouds part. I went from being a stress mess to a straight success (maybe not success yet, but soon).…

High school changes people. They express themselves, become opinionated, and they start to look at the world differently as they experience things they have never encountered before. A wise Oliver Wendell Holmes said, “Man’s mind stretched to a new idea never goes back to its original dimensions.” This quote is an excellent way to describe my experience in high school.…

In the seventh grade, I faced a large transition in life. The previous year I had experienced middle school for the first time, but I would make that entrance again. I moved from Texas to North Dakota, where seventh grade was the first year of middle school. I took on those same fears and hopes that I had faced before, but in an unfamiliar place where I had no one except for family to give me support. I tried a lot of new things that year, mainly wrestling.…

I’ve had a mixed bag of experiences with schooling. I have always been an old soul trapped in a child's body. If a person wanted me to pick a time-period to define who I am, I would have picked my time in middle school when I was bullied for physical appearance and my speech impediment among other things. I was naive back then and didn’t know anything bad was going on around me. I was worried about other people, but at that time I should have been worried about myself.…
