There are many things in a person’s life that can and will change a person’s life. These events can be different for any one. For me this event was when my house burnt down. It’s hard to believe that a night that started so well could have ended so terrible.
It was the eve before Easter 2008. My family was visiting my aunt and uncle who lived on lake Zumbro, which is near Rochester, Minnesota. We were in their garage playing foosball. This is when we my sister received one of the biggest message of both of our lives.
For such a dramatic situation, this message was very simple. My sister got the message: “Is your family ok?” she then replied: “What are you talking about?” That was when word had first reached my family that our house was on fire.

Our cement apron was shattered by the sheer heat of the fire. The garage and the living room was burnt to the ground. The white kitchen cabinets were blackened along with the entire room. I remember the plastic wrapping on the food was melted away. My sisters room was non-existent. I remember my room the most, the once blue walls were now the color of soot. The windows were shattered. Mostly water and smoke that had damaged my room. Our basement was in the same condition.
The house I had spent my entire life was ruined. Destroyed beyond repair. We spent one week in a hotel while we tried to figure out what the heck we were going to do. My family stayed at the Best Western in Fargo. I remember waking up extra early because I still had to go to school, but I was now about a half of an hour farther away.
This is when the work began. We had to tear down anything left on our house. We didn’t go through this alone though. We had help from friends, family, and neighbors. My sister’s classmates helped demolish walls. My uncle brought a skid steer to help move the rubble. Things were starting to look up, they were starting to feel almost normal. Thanks to these people and more we could clean

Getting Shameless About Easter One Easter I dressed as a giant yellow chicken and scared a toddler close to death on the streets of London. It seemed like a good idea at the time. The concept was that a giant chicken giving out chocolate eggs to the children of London would create good vibes towards our church and spread a feel-good Easter message. My team and I bought a few hundred eggs, and I climbed into a professional chicken mascot costume.…

On December 27th, 2007, me and a friend of mine were between 8-9 years old just 2 days after Christmas. We were excited to meet up and show off anything new we were blessed with 2 days prior to the incident. We were at his house playing with WWE action figures until he pulled out a pack of sparklers. This is when the real fun began and one by one we lit up a sparkler, poking holes in stuffed animals and having the irresponsible fun of playing with fire and fireworks. Back as a 9 year old, I thought we had it under control, nothing to be worried about because we knew how to use sparklers.…
