Personal Narrative: My Trip To White Cloud Michigan

Great Essays
The day I went on the trip was June 28th through June 30th. It started a couple weeks before when Joel said “Hey does anyone want to go to White Cloud Michigan for a three day trip?” I was thinking about it and I signed up. The days passed by like racing cars and that’s when the day arrived, I was ready to go. It took us three hours driving. It felt like an eternity, especial when we heard the same song on the radio like three million times. When we were in the van, we slept, we sang, and we played games. It was very interesting.
This was the first time me and my sister have been out of state for the first time without or parents, we were kind of nervous. The day we left my mom and dad were sweating bullets, they were so nervous that they didn’t even want us going anymore. I told my mom “We will be ok I promise.” When we left we made sure that we had everything ready to go. When my parents dropped us off they watched us get out of the car they watched our every move. When we got out, we saw all our friends near the van and they were all waiting to call seats. We were all situated in

Joel said “One hour left.” We all gave a very long and sad look. We still have a long way to go. We finally got there and we all got out of the car ready to start running around like crazy, but we all just stretched out and entered the cabin. We entered and the first thing we say was a happy dog ready to greet everyone. We can smell the lake that greets you when you get to the backyard. We start getting ready because our advisors said we were going to the beach. Christian said “But it’s so cold outside” and we all agreed that it wasn’t a good day to go to the beach. We went and when we got into the water Diego started spaying me with a water gun and I got mad. I said “why are you spraying me with that? It’s so cold”. Everyone started telling Diego to stop spraying people and he got a little mad because he couldn’t have

The Midwest is home to states with rich cultural backgrounds and popular tourist attractions. To take a break from the busy schedule I have as a student, and to avoid writing more essays like this, I went on a vacation to Michigan with my mother and two siblings. We visited South Haven, a pleasant port city on Lake Michigan’s east coast, and Detroit, the famous largest city in Michigan. These areas interest me because there’s plenty to do; there are amazing restaurants, breath-taking scenery, and family-friendly, inexpensive entertainment. South Haven is famed for its relaxed atmosphere and homely feel.…

Throughout the course of my short seventeen years, I have grown and learned many things. I grew up in a small rural town called Elk Creek. There are no strangers in Elk Creek; people sleep with their doors unlocked and their windows open. Everyone who has grown up in a small town can agree that friendship and community become a second nature trait. Although I have copious amounts of love and respect for where I grew up; I believe that I do not belong there.…

Our field trip to Chicago offered me a new way of seeing the city. I have been to Chicago multiple times, yet this trip offered me an experience I was not expecting. It offered me an insight to the darkness that covers the city and the beacons of light that try to shine through that darkness. It opened my eyes to those who are searching for a truth, a love and an acceptance and are finding it in so many different places; whether it is Jesus People USA, South East Friendship Center, Olive Branch, a Krishna Temple or an Islamic Mosque. In each of these places individuals are just trying to figure out where they belong and if they can find acceptance, but what each offers is entirely different.…

One of the first things I remember about going on that trip is looking down at my feet and thinking that I would die if I fell. I was nine and very light-headed at the time. It was the winter of 2009 and one of the first times I had ever gone to Colorado. The drive there took about 6 hours from our house so you can imagine my excitement at finally getting out of the car as an inpatient nine-year-old. We were renting a small two story log cabin with a hot tub on the second- floor balcony from a family that had a winter home somewhere in Florida.…

Growing up in Michigan has been a wonderful experience, but upon completing my education I would like to experience a new area. Taking every life experience I have had and apply it in new ways to other parts of the United States, different from where I got to grow up. By taking what I know, I can spread what I have learned to other citizens with different life styles or experiences. I think a suburban city not to far from a big city is an ideal place to live and start an independent life. Having the option and getting to explore a big city is great as you learn valuable lessons that everyone should know while applying everything I learned living in a suburb community.…
