Once you enter foyer there is a tremendous chandelier towering over you. It was as bright as the sunshine on the sea.The host asks us “ Table for …” and my mom replied “Three please”. She replied “Follow me ,” the host sits us down in this very cozy booth. She asks us kindly, “What would you like to drink?” We all decided we wanted some water because it's less filling than a soda. I usually pray because my mom takes forever so I asked her “ Mom , can I pray ?” And she replied “No!” She already knew my plan . My mom prays for around 2 minutes and it felt like it was never gonna end I thought I was gonna die of starvation. As soon as she finished praying instantly devoured my plate like a piranhas eating its prey. In the midst of all this my brother brings up some good news , he eagerly said “ My boss is giving me some dogs today is that cool or what !” I excitingly said “Yes that's great we need a dog.” “ Is that okay with you Mom?” asked my brother . “Of course it is , what are the names ?” “Mucho and Roxy.” After the amazing dinner we go to my brothers boss house to pick up the dogs , we ring the doorbell and first thing the dogs burst out once his boss opens the footy and they are running around in the nicely mown front yard. They looked so cute and they were as soft as a mountain cotton balls. We were in the car going home and there was disturbing odor that came from the dogs, they smelled like old sweaty gym socks and moldy cheese. My mom told me to take them a bath right when we get home. We pull in the driveway and I step out of the car to stretch and yawn because it was a very long car

It was a hot summer, sunny day in Florida usually like most others but today was special. I was going deep-sea fishing for the very first time, my mom told me to put on a lot of sunscreens, so I don’t get sunburn. My family and I got dressed and got into the car and made our way for Pompano Beach pier, where the charter boat would be leaving from. We all packed into the boat like a can of sardens, the captain started the engine and we looked over at the glistening deep blue ocean, the seas where calm, when we arrived at the fishing spot the mates gave us fishing poles and told us to drop the baits in the water, a few seconds later the rod is bent over and the line is screeching like crazy, my parents and the captain start yelling at me to reel…

Both my parents grew up in Southern California and, generally, lived in the same area for most of their lives. Even though my mother was raised in Long Beach, she pronounces certain words strange, such as wash like worsh. Her grandmother came from Minnesota, and I believe that is how she came to speak with an almost accent.…
