Manzanita Beach-Personal Narrative

Improved Essays
I had never seen such a beautiful house in my life. Inside, there is only light and happiness. There is no negativity. Looking out from the window and seeing the mighty Pacific Ocean. I cannot take my eyes of the reflecting ocean and the vibrant sun shining down on it. I am sitting on the porch drinking ice cold water stress free. My family and I wake up early and grab some delicious breakfast before we take off for Manzanita Beach. As we are driving, all I see is a sea of tall, green pine trees surrounding the street. Every time I look out of the window, I see something new that nature has shared with me. Then, I look out to my right and I see the intimidating Pacific Ocean. It is breathtaking and I could not keep my eyes off how huge …show more content…
We went to the beach everyday while we were there. My cousin and I tried to boogie board but the water was too cold. The beach was overwhelming. There was not a better view in the world than what I was witnessing. My family and I took many walks along and I would skip rocks and would think to myself “I want to live here for the rest of my life.” During the sunset, I went down to the beach and took pictures of the sunset. This was my first time seeing a sunset on the beach. It is indescribable. Looking at the sun descending in the distance over the ocean is an amazing …show more content…
We cooked up some teriyaki chicken with rice. We played a game of Buy, which is a card game similar to Gin Rummy, while waiting for dinner. We brought the telescope outside and look straight at the moon. The moon seemed so close I thought I could touch it. I could not stop staring and seeing the light reflect on water. We also saw Jupiter in the microscope and could see the planet in great detail. After dinner my uncle and I walked down to the beach. It was dark and there was no light but I could still feel the ocean. I heard the waves splashing and that was the only noise around. It was so peaceful and calming. The beach house in Manzanita was a life changing experience for me. All my stress left my body and I found a safe haven. There was not one moment when I thought about school or any other problems I had. Every moment that I spent there, I will cherish it forever and ever. I only stayed there one night but it felt like one month and I got memories that will last me a lifetime. I thank Manzanita for the memories and the house every single day. This is an experience that I will cherish for the rest of my

The first salient moment occurred during the second day of the trip. We had just spent the entire day walking in the sand and the sun, and I was exhausted and hurting. We were all dragging, and slowing trudging through Nauset Marsh. It was just getting dark and the blood moon was rising over the beach, and the only thing I wanted to do and cared about at that moment in time was getting…

Of course there is the beach itself too. The beach is where most of the daytime is spent riding waves, tanning, learning to skim board, building sand castles, and occasionally going sand crabbing in the evening. These may seem like insignificant places and memories but one thing that they have in common is that in all of them I was enjoying being a carefree, happy,…

The flicker of a lamp powered by a dimly lit lightbulb flashed in intervals onto the cracked concrete path. Scattered shrub shavings, dried pine needles, and petrified insects encrusted the crevices left in between the cement squares. The long and narrow path led up to a strong yet aged wooden door that stood at the foot of the house. The house held nine people, three cats, and many tribulations to come. At first glance the house might’ve seemed ordinary; it had five bedrooms, two bathrooms, a laundry room, living room, kitchen etc.…

When we got there, I was immediately in love with the beach. Time seemed to stop, and all I could take in was the cold of the water around my ankles, and the exciting fact that I was actually there. It was so beautiful, and I don’t think I've ever seen something so BIG! The way the waves jumped and leaped over each other was amazing. We all ran to the shore and I slowly dipped my toe into the water, smiled at my mom, and leaped into the the blue waves.…

Then I went to Mexico and felt the warm ocean breeze roll off the waves and thought man it would be tremendous to be somewhere comparable to this all the time. The resort my family stayed at was exquisite and it had a humongous pool. However, the beach was rocky and not enjoyable to relax on causing my family to go around to different beaches that were quite a bit superior. There was this one time where out of nowhere it started storming forcing all the people on the beach crammed in under this canopy. The canopy was an outdoor restaurant so while all the people on the beach waited for the storm to die down, my parents bought us nachos that were super savory.…

Anna Maria Florida It was a hot, humid Sunday in Anna Maria Florida. We were going to the beach with the 3 other families that went with us.
