Last summer I hosted a 7-a-side soccer tournament. The intention was to thicken my wallet a little but the experience turned out to be worth more than a little extra pocket money.
One of the many ethical dillema’s I faced during this entrepreneurial venture was wheather to allow a team to secretly play with an over aged player. At the time, I was desperate to get as many teams as possible so I seriously considered letting him play. The thought of possibly losing a whole team just because one player was born a month too early seemed irrational. However, after much deliberation, I decided to not allow him to play. Unfortunately, he happened to be the captain and star player of the team. So the rest of the team left with him.
