Personal Narrative: Entering Legacy

Improved Essays
Entering Legacy I was unsure what to expect, extremely nerve wrecking entering into a class you are unfamiliar with. All of a sudden I felt like I was in kindergarten again, little did I know my life would be changed forever. Legacy is definitely something I will always cherish and remember for the rest of my life. This school is not an ordinary school, this is a place where you have opportunities to succeed, grow, become that powerful human being. Personally, I noticed there was progress in my work, I was actually learning. I’ve never seen or heard of a school that can support, help, most of all motivate you to become that successful graduate. Yes! Sure that is what high schools are for right, but how many actually follow through?

The work in class wasn’t easy, and it wasn’t difficult either. Work in this class was just perfect! I always learned something new in class everyday. Not only does Ms. McMaster assign work that will increase your learning, but work that also teaches you life skills beneficial for your future. Legacy is truly a school that prepares you for life, from education, to cooking, manners, and most of all respect, responsibility, and integrity. From the moment I arrived I knew this was the place for me. Over the time I did have to face many obstacles in my personal life. I’ve had many ups and downs. My life seemed extremely difficult to live with in my eyes. Giving up was never a option in this class, it was engraved in my brain fairly well thanks to my peers. At the time I didn’t care. Dropping out was an easier route for me, I remember all I wanted to do is throw my education away. Though at the time I didn’t realize it, that would’ve been the biggest mistake of my …show more content…
Ms. Goularte couldn’t have elected a better school to recommend me to, as for myself graduate from. My experience here has been life changing. As much as I’d love to describe, share with everyone all the memories I had in here, you still couldn’t even imagine. Definitely something you call life changing. Oneself would have to experience this beautiful journey. If only the world can see how things are ran in here and how students should be well taught and valued, the world would be a better place. With all honesty, if every teacher had the mindset Ms. McMaster and Mrs. Duncan has, there would no longer be an education gap! Imagine a world without an education gap! Education completely would change, the number of graduates would rise faster than an asteroid orbiting the sun. Candy Silva, one hundred percent recommends this school for all future high school

Family: Before this class, I knew the importance of family. I have grown up in a really loving home, and we all stick together pretty closely. I love them more than anything else in my life, and I would do almost anything for them. Through this class, though, I have enjoyed reading about the different family experiences that people have told of, and it has been inspiring to me. I have also realized how much my family and I take for granted, and it makes me so much more appreciative to be with them, and to be safe.…

They make sure that each one of their hired teachers is fitting to teach all types of learners. The teachers provide both after school and before school help for anyone who needs it and is always there to answer questions whether it be in person or online. At MHS the teachers work hard to be there for their students through giving extra help or by answering questions in order to provide them with a better understanding of the subject, and as a result a better education overall. “Shes coming back right?” a baffled 7 year old asks in response to the appalling news of her mother’s death. A vibrant imagination is accompanied by a crushing pain of reality that trails behind it ; I discovered this when I heard the words “no” . 10 years later, that conversation lingers in my head and holds not a cacophonous nor euphonious sound, but instead holds the neutral tone of reality, an alarm . As routine , at 6a.m., I hear a melodious alarm followed by the pitter-patter of my aunt who is getting ready for work.…

There are a couple of obstacles that have played a major role in me becoming who I am today. I've had naysayers trying to negatively influence my thoughts, and crush my dreams by saying that said I will never amount to anything, or that I should give up on my dreams and get realistic with my goals. A couple years ago I was a completely different person. I was out of shape physically, my academic performance was very poor, and I had a terrible attitude. I improved greatly in athletics and my academic career.…
