Personal Narrative: Emma

I had been waiting for this moment for about two weeks, and now it's here and I am nothing but thrilled to have this opportunity. We started loading up the van and the next thing I know we’re on the road. When we had gotten to the building that we were staying at we all got out and stretched. We all grabbed our things and sat on a bench right outside the door while we had waited for Marcy to finish so we could get to our room. As Marcy rang the bell several times and no one answer so we knew that we were in trouble. Since no one was there we loaded the entire car back up and decided to go get some food since none of us had eaten that day. Once we returned we went to our room and we finally got to rest for the night.

Me and Emma were working on the section next to her house. There was a plant pot upside down so Emma lifted it up and the next thing we knew there were hundreds of ants everywhere because we had just distributed their anthill. Quickly We start panicking because they were all over our tools and clothes. When Marcy finally came over she quickly got the situation under control. The ants were taken care of so I moved to the side where my only company were a bunch of bees so naturally I didn’t stay there for long because no matter what I was determined to get the heck out of there. I’m hot and sweaty, really want food and air conditioning, and the absolute last thing I need is to be crawling in ants or stung by bees. The day started to come to an end and Linda had called for me to help her. She said that she had hats for us that she made herself. This woman was obviously skilled because I can’t even sew a button onto a shirt, less alone make a hat from scratch. When I went to grab the bag that had the hats in it boxes and more boxes started to fall. Once we had our balance we grabbed the hats and got out of there. Once people started coming Kadie, and I went to go and help watch all of the kids while the parents went down to get food. We meet all sorts of different people who were in need of food. We built castles and read books because some of the kids didn’t know very much english. It was an amazing time because all of the kids were kind. After everyone had gotten their food and all of the children were with their parents it was time to clean up. I headed back down to the basement where everything was being handed out. As I was putting some kale in a box all of a sudden Emma was messing with my
